On November 28, under the direction of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, the National Assembly discussed and voted to pass a Resolution to elect members of the National Assembly Standing Committee and General Secretary of the 15th National Assembly.
Accordingly, Mr. Le Quang Tung - Secretary of Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee, was elected to the position of Secretary General of the National Assembly.
Before voting to pass the Resolution, the National Assembly listened to a report on the results of the discussion at the delegation and explained and accepted the opinions of National Assembly deputies on the expected personnel to elect the Secretary General of the National Assembly.
The National Assembly discussed and voted to approve the list to elect the Secretary General of the National Assembly using the electronic voting system.
The National Assembly elects the Secretary General of the National Assembly by secret ballot.
Mr. Le Quang Tung was born on October 30, 1971, hometown: Ha Tinh.
Professional qualification: Traffic mechanical engineer. Degree: PhD in Economic Management.
From November 2009 to March 2011, he was Director of the Department of Science, Education, Natural Resources and Environment, Ministry of Planning and Investment.
From April 2011 to March 2014: Director of the Department of Local and Territorial Economy, Ministry of Planning and Investment.
From April 2014 to July 2018: Alternate member of the 12th Party Central Committee, member of the Party Executive Committee, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province.
From July 2018 to July 2020: Alternate member of the 12th Party Central Committee, member of the Party Executive Committee, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
From July 2020 to present: Member of the 13th Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Quang Tri province.
