On the afternoon of March 31, in Hanoi, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man chaired a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee to give opinions on the preparation for the 9th session of the 15th National Assembly.
Speaking at the opening of the session, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that the 9th session is expected to open on June 5 and close on June 30.
This is a session with many important contents related to the economy - society, national defense - security, and building the country's political system.
In particular, the National Assembly will give opinions on amending the 2013 Constitution and amending laws related to amending the Constitution to serve the streamlining of the apparatus in the spirit of Resolution 18-NQ/TW in 2017.
According to the program, the session will pass 11 draft laws and give initial comments on 16 other draft laws.

The National Assembly Chairman added that the 9th session is of great significance and history; the number of work is very large.
Emphasizing this, the National Assembly Chairman suggested that the Government direct relevant agencies to actively prepare the contents of the session, especially the draft laws submitted to the National Assembly for approval at the 9th session, and related Resolutions.
The National Assembly Chairman also requested the National Assembly Standing Committee to closely coordinate with the Ethnic Council and the National Assembly Committees, urgently deploy work in the spirit of "running and lining up" to ensure the success of the session.
At the meeting, the National Assembly Standing Committee listened to Secretary General of the National Assembly - Head of the National Assembly Office Le Quang Tung present a Report on a number of issues on the preparation for the 9th session of the 15th National Assembly.
