On March 17, in Hanoi, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man chaired a meeting of the National Assembly Party Committee Standing Committee on a number of contents related to the draft direction for electing 16th National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term and the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Election of National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies.
At the same time, report on the progress of work related to amending and supplementing a number of articles of the 2013 Constitution.
Speaking here, the National Assembly Chairman said that at this meeting, the National Assembly Party Committee Standing Committee will give opinions on a number of contents to serve the streamlining of the apparatus to submit to competent authorities.
The National Assembly Chairman said that the revolution of streamlining the apparatus is entering the second stage, preparing to reorganize the apparatus at the commune level; after amending the new Constitution, it will be studied to consider removing the district level and reorganizing the provincial level.
Therefore, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man requested each agency and unit to lead and direct the effective strengthening of political and ideological work among cadres, party members and people to work closely from the central to local levels to unify both the awareness and action in implementing the Party's policies for the development of the country.
The National Assembly Chairman also suggested that all contents submitted to competent authorities by the National Assembly Party Committee and the National Assembly Standing Committee should be strengthened in close coordination with Government agencies to ensure progress and quality of work according to requirements.
On the same morning, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with the National Assembly Delegation of Soc Trang province on the source towards celebrating the 80th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the National Assembly of Vietnam.
Informing about some important tasks on arranging and streamlining the apparatus to be strong, efficient, effective and efficient, the National Assembly Chairman said that in just the past 4 months, the Central Government has summarized the implementation of Resolution No. 18, reorganizing the apparatus of Central agencies and provinces.

To serve the above tasks, the agencies are preparing to submit to the National Assembly amendments and supplements to a number of articles of the 2013 Constitution and a number of related laws.
Specific criteria for the arrangement of administrative units will also be issued in the coming time for smooth implementation.
