On March 17, in Hanoi, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man chaired a meeting of the National Assembly Party Committee Standing Committee on a number of contents related to the draft direction for electing 16th National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term and the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Election of National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies.

At the same time, report on the progress of work related to amending and supplementing a number of articles of the 2013 Constitution.

Speaking here, the National Assembly Chairman said that at this meeting, the National Assembly Party Committee Standing Committee will give opinions on a number of contents to serve the streamlining of the apparatus to submit to competent authorities.

The National Assembly Chairman said that the revolution of streamlining the apparatus is entering the second stage, preparing to reorganize the apparatus at the commune level; after amending the new Constitution, it will be studied to consider removing the district level and reorganizing the provincial level.

On the same morning, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with the National Assembly Delegation of Soc Trang province on the source towards celebrating the 80th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the National Assembly of Vietnam.
