The National Assembly also discussed the 5-year socio-economic development plan for 2026-2030; medium-term public investment plan for the period 2026-2030; 5-year national financial plan for the period 2026-2030; public debt borrowing and repayment plan for the period 2026-2030.
The National Assembly also discussed in groups the approval of the state budget finalization for 2024; the work of practicing thrift and combating wastefulness in 2025; the situation of implementing the national target on gender equality in 2025.
Also in the morning, the National Assembly will discuss in groups the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Representative Offices of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam abroad.

In the afternoon of the same day, the National Assembly discussed in the hall about the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Emulation and Commendation. After discussion, Minister of Home Affairs Do Thanh Binh spoke to explain and clarify a number of issues raised by National Assembly deputies.
Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religious Affairs Nguyen Dinh Khang will speak to explain and clarify some issues raised by National Assembly deputies related to the draft Law on Belief and Religion (amended).
At the end of the day, the National Assembly discussed in the hall the draft Resolution of the National Assembly on promulgating a number of regulations on environmental protection tax, value-added tax, and special consumption tax on gasoline, oil and aviation fuel.

On April 9, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung reported to the National Assembly on socio-economic development results and the State budget for 2025, and the 2026 plan.
According to the Prime Minister, in the first months of 2026, the macroeconomy is basically stable, inflation is controlled, major balances are ensured; GDP growth in the first quarter is estimated at 7.83%. Infrastructure projects are implemented synchronously, focusing on highways, high-speed railways and airports.
2026 is the first year of implementing the socio-economic development plan for the 2026-2030 period, so the tasks from now until the end of the year are very heavy but of great significance, creating momentum for the following years.
