As expected, tomorrow (August 19) the 36th session of the National Assembly Standing Committee will open at the National Assembly house. It is expected that the meeting will take place from August 19 to 22 with Politburo member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and National Assembly Vice Chairmen taking turns managing the content.
At this session, the National Assembly Standing Committee will consider and give opinions on lawmaking, supervision and decide on other important issues.
Regarding lawmaking, the National Assembly Standing Committee spent a lot of time giving opinions on 4 projects: Electricity Law (amended); Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Standards and Technical Regulations;
Along with that is the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army; the explanation, reception and revision of the draft Law on People's Air Defense.
The National Assembly Standing Committee also considered and decided to add the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Health Insurance Law and the draft Law on Disease Prevention to the Law and Ordinance Development Program.
Regarding supervision work, the National Assembly Standing Committee will consider the report of the Supervision Team and approve the thematic Supervision Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on "Implementation of policies and laws on innovation." organization and management system, improving the quality and operational efficiency of public service units in the period 2018-2023".
The National Assembly Standing Committee reviews the report on the National Assembly's public voluntary work in July 2024; give opinions on organizing the National Assembly Forum on supervision activities.
At the same time, the National Assembly Standing Committee will give comments on the draft Supervision Plan and outline report to the Supervision Team of the National Assembly Standing Committee on "Implementation of policies and laws on development and use." Utilize human resources to meet the requirements of socio-economic development, especially high quality human resources.
During the monitoring activity, the meeting will organize questioning and answering activities of National Assembly deputies for 1.5 days (live television and radio).
Regarding decisions on important issues, the National Assembly Standing Committee will consider and approve the Prime Minister's proposal to appoint an Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Consider and decide on supplementing the 2024 state budget estimate of the Ministry of Health; Consider and decide on the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units for the period 2023-2025 of Can Tho city, Ninh Thuan province and Phu Yen province.
Also at the meeting, the National Assembly Standing Committee considered and approved the draft Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee stipulating a number of contents related to resolutions on urban classification and unit standards. Administrative units and classification of administrative units, arrangement of administrative units at district and commune levels in the period 2023 - 2030 to implement the arrangement of administrative units as urban areas in the period 2023-2025.
