The National Assembly Standing Committee has just issued Resolution No. 1281/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Quang Tri province for the 2023-2025 period.
Accordingly, the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in Gio Linh district is as follows:
Merge the entire natural area of 20.50 km2 and population of 2,924 people of Linh Hai commune into Gio Son commune. After merging, Gio Son commune has a natural area of 34.55 km2 and a population of 8,285 people.
Adjust part of the natural area of 8.25 km2 and population of 1,456 people of Gio Chau commune into Gio Quang commune. After merging, Gio Quang commune has a natural area of 26.58 km2 and a population of 5,040 people.
Merge the entire natural area of 8.93 km2 and population of 3,272 people of Gio Chau commune after adjustment into Gio Linh town. After merging, Gio Linh town has a natural area of 16.63 km2 and a population of 12,939 people.
Merge the entire natural area of 3.57 km2 and population of 6,558 people of Gio Viet commune into Cua Viet town. After merging, Cua Viet town has a natural area of 10.45 km2 and a population of 12,769 people.
After the arrangement, Gio Linh district has 14 commune-level administrative units, including 12 communes and 2 towns.
Arrange the commune-level administrative units of Trieu Phong district as follows:
Establish Trieu Co commune on the basis of merging the entire natural area of 17.65 km2, population of 4,625 people of Trieu Son commune and the entire natural area of 12.90 km2, population of 5,555 people of Trieu Lang commune.
After its establishment, Trieu Co commune had a natural area of 30.55 km2 and a population of 10,180 people.
Establish Trieu Tan commune on the basis of merging the entire natural area of 10.66 km2, population of 3,694 people of Trieu Van commune and the entire natural area of 13.90 km2, population of 8,382 people of Trieu An commune.
After its establishment, Trieu Tan commune had a natural area of 24.56 km2 and a population of 12,076 people.
After the arrangement, Trieu Phong district has 16 commune-level administrative units, including 15 communes and 1 town.
Arrange the commune-level administrative units of Hai Lang district as follows: Establish Hai Binh commune on the basis of merging the entire natural area of 15.02 km2, population of 4,625 people of Hai Que commune and the entire natural area of 22.72 km2, population of 6,557 people of Hai Ba commune.
After its establishment, Hai Binh commune had a natural area of 37.74 km2 and a population of 11,182 people.
After the arrangement, Hai Lang district has 15 commune-level administrative units, including 14 communes and 1 town.
After rearranging commune-level administrative units, Quang Tri province has 10 district-level administrative units and 119 commune-level administrative units.
This Resolution comes into force from January 1, 2025.
