After the arrangement of administrative units, Dong Thap province has 12 district-level administrative units and 141 commune-level administrative units.

The National Assembly Standing Committee has just issued Resolution No. 1284/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Dong Thap province for the 2023-2025 period.

Accordingly, the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in Cao Lanh city is as follows:

Merge the entire natural area of ​​0.55 km2 and population of 10,494 people of Ward 2 into Ward 1. After merging, Ward 1 has a natural area of ​​2.57 km2 and a population of 21,934 people.

Ward 1 borders Ward 3, Ward 4, Hoa Thuan Ward, My Phu Ward, My Tan Commune and My Tra Commune.

My Ngai ward was established on the basis of merging the entire natural area of ​​6.19 km2, population of 5,394 people of My Ngai commune and the entire natural area of ​​8.24 km2, population of 13,833 people of ward 11. After establishment, My Ngai ward had a natural area of ​​14.43 km2 and a population of 19,227 people.

My Ngai Ward borders Hoa An, My Tan, Tan Thuan Tay communes; Cao Lanh district and An Giang province;

After the arrangement, Cao Lanh city has 13 commune-level administrative units, including 7 wards and 6 communes.

After rearranging commune-level administrative units, Dong Thap province has 12 district-level administrative units, including 9 districts and 3 cities; 141 commune-level administrative units.

This Resolution comes into force from January 1, 2025.

The Government, People's Council, People's Committee of Dong Thap province and relevant agencies and organizations are responsible for organizing the implementation of this resolution; arranging and perfecting the apparatus of local agencies and organizations; stabilizing the lives of local people, ensuring the requirements of socio-economic development, national defense and security in the area.

The Government directed relevant ministries and Dong Thap provincial authorities to continue researching and developing appropriate reorganization plans for administrative units that must be reorganized but have not yet been reorganized in the 2023-2025 period.

Determine the roadmap to complete the necessary standards and conditions to ensure the implementation of the arrangement in the following years in accordance with regulations.

The Nationalities Council, the Committees of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Delegation of Dong Thap province, within the scope of their tasks and powers, shall supervise the implementation of this resolution.
