On the afternoon of March 26, at the National Assembly House, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the meeting, highly appreciating Singapore's role in supporting Vietnam in developing a market economy and integrating internationally, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man suggested that Singapore continue to share experiences and policies on building a rule of law state, developing a knowledge economy, innovating and sustainable development, e-government, green economy, digital economy; supporting the development of a legal program for the Vietnamese National Assembly in the direction of digital transformation, artificial intelligence, streamlining the apparatus through digital transformation, ensuring the regime for civil servants.
Regarding economic, trade and investment cooperation, the National Assembly Chairman expressed his delight at seeing the two countries' relations increasingly develop substantially over the past 50 years in all fields, especially in the field of economy - trade - investment, with bilateral trade turnover reaching 10.3 billion USD, import-export turnover of the two countries reaching approximately 24 billion USD in 2024; Singapore is currently the second largest investment partner in Vietnam with total accumulated investment capital exceeding 80 billion USD, in which Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Parks (VSIP) are considered a successful cooperation model implemented in many regions in Vietnam.
Regarding the upcoming direction, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed that the Vietnamese National Assembly will continue to improve the legal system, create a legal environment for cooperation between the two countries, create conditions to promote connectivity, economic, trade and investment cooperation; create favorable conditions for Singaporean enterprises in particular and foreign investors operating in Vietnam, especially in the fields of advanced technology, renewable energy and supporting industries with high added value.

The Singaporean Prime Minister emphasized that the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership is an important foundation and foundation for the further development of bilateral relations; highly appreciated the role of the Vietnamese National Assembly in building a favorable legal framework for socio-economic development and international cooperation; affirmed that Singapore attaches importance to and wishes to strengthen and deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Vietnam in all fields, including cooperation between the two legislative bodies.
pleased with Singapore's increasing investment in Vietnam, the Singaporean Prime Minister said that the two countries still have many new areas of cooperation with great potential such as agriculture, food, green economy, digital economy; suggested that the two countries upgrade and develop Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Parks (VSIP) from 1.0 to 2.0, including choosing a few pilot industrial parks for upgrading; continue to promote digital payments and QR payments.
The two leaders agreed that the National Assemblies of the two countries should continue to increase information sharing and good experiences of each country in perfecting institutions, policies, and legal systems; increase delegation exchanges and high-level contacts, exchanges between Committees, National Assembly agencies, Friendship groups of parliamentarians, young parliamentarians, and female parliamentarians of the two countries; continue to promote cooperation in defense - security, education - training, science - technology, tourism, labor and people-to-people exchanges... as well as many other areas where both sides have much room.
Regarding multilateral and regional cooperation, the two sides agreed to continue to consult and support each other at international and regional forums such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA).
