Within the framework of the State visit to the Socialist Democratic Republic of Sri Lanka, on the morning of May 8, the official welcoming ceremony for General Secretary and President To Lam and the high-level Vietnamese delegation was solemnly held at the Presidential Palace.
Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake presided over the welcoming ceremony.
At exactly 8:30 am (local time), the cavalry escorting the vehicle of General Secretary and President To Lam entered the Presidential Palace. Sri Lankan artists performed traditional dances to welcome General Secretary and President To Lam.
Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake went to the car parking lot to welcome and invite General Secretary and President To Lam to step into the ceremonial area. Military bands sang Vietnamese and Sri Lankan national anthems.

After that, 21 rounds of cannons rang out to welcome. The Captain of the Honor Guard Team reported and invited General Secretary and President To Lam to review the Honor Guard Team. Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and General Secretary and President To Lam introduced the composition of the delegations from both sides attending the welcoming ceremony.
At the end of the welcoming ceremony, Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and General Secretary and President To Lam led the high-level delegation of the two countries to hold talks.
