Continuing the State visit to the Republic of India, after concluding activities in New Delhi capital, on the morning of May 7 (local time), General Secretary and President To Lam and the high-level Vietnamese delegation visited and worked in Mumbai city (Maharashtra state).
Immediately after getting off the plane, General Secretary and President To Lam visited the Indian National Stock Exchange.
Here, Chairman of the Indian National Stock Exchange Srinivas Injeti delivered a welcome speech expressing his honor to welcome General Secretary and President To Lam in Mumbai.
The fact that General Secretary and President To Lam chose India and especially Mumbai to meet with the financial community has reflected the increasing importance of India-Vietnam cooperation relations.
The Chairman of the Indian National Stock Exchange believes that Vietnamese businesses will receive strong attention from Indian investors.
He emphasized that India and Vietnam are both in the group of fast-growing economies, with young populations, outward-looking, and driven by production and technology, both countries put the capital market at the center of their development journey. Bilateral trade turnover has reached over 16 billion USD and continues to grow steadily. However, the next phase of this partnership will be driven not only by trade but also by capital flows. This leads to an important milestone for Vietnam.
According to Mr. Srinivas Injeti, today the Indian National Stock Exchange is the largest derivatives exchange in the world in terms of volume, with a total market capitalization of about 5,000 billion USD and more than 130 million investors.
In 2026, marking the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries, the Chairman of the Indian National Stock Exchange hopes that in the next 10 years, this visit will be assessed as a milestone when the partnership between the two countries goes beyond the diplomatic framework, becoming a substantive partnership in terms of market, capital and business.
The Indian National Stock Exchange is ready to support Vietnam's capital market development journey, and welcomes Vietnamese businesses seeking opportunities to access capital in India.
Concluding his speech, the Chairman of the Indian National Stock Exchange wished the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and India to be in the spirit of going together, moving forward together, walking together and rising together.
On this occasion, Chairman of the Indian National Stock Exchange Srinivas Injeti invited General Secretary and President To Lam to perform the opening bell ringing ceremony of the Indian National Stock Exchange; visit the National Transaction Office, Technology Office and Network Security Office of the exchange.
