The second Conference of the 14th Central Committee of the Party (Central Committee 2, 14th term) took place from March 23 - March 25, 2026 in Hanoi Capital, and considered, discussed and decided many particularly important contents, which are fundamentally important for the task of successfully implementing the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress, directly related to the quality of leadership, ruling and combativeness of the Party; to the effectiveness and efficiency of the entire political system; the rapid and sustainable development of the country in the 2026-2031 period and the following years.
In his closing speech at the 2nd Plenum of the 14th Central Committee, General Secretary To Lam mentioned 5 groups of very important tasks of our Party. These are: Political and ideological work within the Party; "Two-digit" economic growth target; Promoting the strengths of the 2-level local government model; Inspection and supervision, power control and fight against corruption, waste and negativity and Ensuring national defense, security, foreign affairs, and international integration in the new period.
According to experts, effectively implementing these 5 pillars is to create a solid foundation for the country to develop rapidly and sustainably. The issues discussed and resolved at the 2nd Central Conference are to bring the Resolution of the XIV Congress and the Party's Resolutions into life, creating a solid foundation for realizing the two 100-year strategic goals of the nation.
Speaking at the 2nd Plenum of the 14th Central Committee, General Secretary To Lam thoroughly grasped the "Four Perspectives" and stated clearly that Party building work in politics and ideology in the new period needs to continue to be focused on and strengthened, creating a solid foundation to improve the Party's bravery, pioneering nature, combativeness and leadership and ruling capacity.
Dr. Le Trung Kien - Institute of Ho Chi Minh and Party Leaders, analyzed the speeches at the 2nd Plenum of the 14th Central Committee of General Secretary To Lam, which included the requirement to continue to strengthen political and ideological work to ensure unified awareness and action throughout the Party, the entire political system and the whole society. In the context of the world economy undergoing strong restructuring in terms of supply chains, technology, energy and capital markets, any country that is slow to reform institutions, slow to improve productivity, slow to digital and green transformation will be left behind.
