General Secretary To Lam emphasized this at a meeting with excellent and typical ethnic minority students and youth, representing the wisdom, will and aspiration to rise up of young people of ethnic minorities across the country, on the afternoon of December 26.
Consolidating the great national unity bloc

Speaking at the meeting, the General Secretary affirmed that our Party always consistently determines that ethnic affairs and the implementation of ethnic policies are the tasks of the entire Party, the entire people, the entire army, and the entire political system; developing ethnic minority and mountainous areas is a strategic and long-term task, of particular importance to political stability, sustainable development and consolidation of the great national unity bloc.
In recent years, under the leadership of the Party, ethnic affairs work has achieved many important and comprehensive results in all fields.
Socio-economic infrastructure in ethnic minority and mountainous areas is constantly improving; the material and spiritual life of ethnic minorities has been clearly improved; the grassroots political system has been consolidated; national defense and security have been maintained; the people's trust in the Party and the State is increasingly strong.
A young class of intellectuals from ethnic minorities is gradually forming, affirming their role in the political system, in state management, science and technology, and socio-economic development.
Creating a favorable environment for ethnic minority youth to study and start businesses
To continue to care for, nurture and further promote the role of the young generation of ethnic minorities in the new era of development, the General Secretary requested the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religious Affairs to continue to promote the role of strategic advisory agency on ethnic affairs; preside over reviewing and perfecting policies for HSSV, ethnic minority youth; build a mechanism for monitoring, connecting, and long-term support for those who have been commended; replicate good models and effective practices, especially in remote, isolated, border, and ethnic minority areas.
The Ministry of Education and Training must continue to consider the development of education in ethnic minority areas as a key task; pay attention to detecting and fostering gifted students; invest in boarding and semi-boarding schools; take care of the teaching staff; preside over and coordinate with the Central Organization Committee, the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religious Affairs, the Ministry of Home Affairs and relevant agencies to develop a Project on training and fostering, creating a source of ethnic minority cadres from excellent students; in the immediate future, research, select, and award scholarships for training abroad for some children who are commended.
Ministries, branches, localities, the Fatherland Front and mass organizations continue to closely coordinate, creating a favorable environment for ethnic minority youth to study, start businesses, establish a career, contribute and grow up; linking training with the needs of socio-economic development, border protection, preservation of cultural identity and consolidation of the great national unity bloc.

The General Secretary shared that our country is entering a new era of development - rich, strong, civilized, prosperous, and happy. Opportunities and opportunities are very large, but they also pose increasingly high requirements for the younger generation.
The General Secretary wished the children to continue to nurture the aspiration to study, constantly improve their knowledge and skills, master science and technology, digital transformation; cultivate political bravery, ethics, discipline and innovative and creative thinking; live with ideals, ambitions, and responsibility to family, homeland, community and country.
