On the afternoon of July 30, at the Party Central Committee headquarters, General Secretary To Lam received Mr. Gautam Adani, Chairman of Adani Group India, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The General Secretary expressed his satisfaction with the Vietnam - India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership which is developing well with high strategic trust. The General Secretary emphasized that the two countries share many common points in their national development strategy, both setting the goal of becoming a modern developed country after 100 years of nationalhood (for Vietnam in 2045, for India in 2047), so it is necessary to further strengthen cooperation in various fields, especially promoting economic, trade and investment relations commensurate with potential.
The General Secretary shared that Vietnam is actively implementing strategic breakthroughs, prioritizing the development of science - technology, innovation and digital transformation, developing the private economy in the spirit of creating all favorable conditions for businesses, including domestic businesses and foreign-invested enterprises, to have the opportunity to develop investment and business projects, contributing to the development of the country.
In that spirit, Vietnam always welcomes foreign enterprises, including Indian enterprises, to expand investment in Vietnam.
President Gautam Adani expressed his admiration for Vietnam's vision and development strategy; congratulated Vietnam under the leadership of the Communist Party led by the General Secretary for achieving remarkable achievements in the development of the economy and society, becoming one of the dynamic developed economies and leading attractive investment destinations in the region.
Mr. Gautam Adani said that Adani Group has many years of experience in operation, directly investing and operating many large projects in important fields such as seaports, airports, transportation, logistics, energy, digital technology in India and many countries in the world, including Mundra port - the largest seaport in India; at the same time, Adani is also the largest energy supplier in India.
Chairman Gautam Adani reported to the General Secretary on the group's activities and vision in Vietnam, affirming his desire to commit to long-term strategic investment with a total estimated investment capital of up to 10 billion USD in areas where the group has strengths.
Mr. Gautam Adani affirmed that with the group's capacity and experience in India as well as many countries in the world, the group is ready to contribute to the development of Vietnam, especially in areas that Vietnam is interested in such as strategic infrastructure, energy, renewable energy, new technology such as AI; hoping to continue to receive the attention of the Party and State of Vietnam, creating conditions for the Group's activities in Vietnam.
General Secretary To Lam congratulated Adani Group on achieving important achievements, contributing to the economic development of India; highly appreciated the group's interest and building a long-term investment strategy in Vietnam, thereby contributing to strengthening cooperation and connecting the two economies of Vietnam and India.
The General Secretary acknowledged the group's proposals and suggested that the group proactively work with competent ministries, branches and localities to discuss and clarify requirements and cooperation orientations, thereby promoting the rapid implementation of projects of concern.
