On July 31, information from the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) - Hanoi City Police said that from July 25 to July 30, the Traffic Police force in the whole city detected and handled 3,035 cases of violations of Road Traffic Order and Safety (TTATGT). Temporarily detained 1,026 vehicles, revoked 119 driving licenses and deducted points from 451 driving licenses of all types.
Notably, many violators were handled as technology motorbike taxi drivers, with violations such as driving in the wrong direction, running red lights, covering license plates, etc.
For example, on July 30, during a patrol and inspection in the Nga Tu So area, Road Traffic Police Team No. 3 - Traffic Police Department, Hanoi City Police discovered many cases of violations of technology motorbike taxi drivers.
Most of the violations are driving in the wrong direction during rush hour, which is one of the causes of unsafety and traffic congestion.
In addition, many technology motorbike taxi drivers also cover and stick their license plates to avoid being fined, making it difficult for the authorities to monitor and handle violations.

According to Captain Nguyen Gia Long - an officer of Road Traffic Police Team No. 3, the above acts are a group of dangerous acts, the violations are mostly due to the subjective awareness of traffic participants.
"Notably, a number of technology motorbike taxi drivers think that the authorities will ignore it due to the nature of the job. However, the unit's viewpoint is to handle it strictly, without exception," said Captain Nguyen Gia Long.
According to Decree 168/2024, motorbike and motorbike drivers traveling in the wrong direction will be fined 5 million VND, deducting 2 points from their driving license (GPLX); covering or pasting their license plates will be fined 5 million VND, deducting 6 points from their driving license.
The Traffic Police Department determined that these are violations that need to be drastically corrected. Regardless of the reason, going in the wrong direction or covering a license plate can potentially cause accidents and create a mentality of disregard for the law, negatively affecting the common awareness of traffic participants.
In the coming time, working groups will continue to increase recording, image-based fines, and arrange forces at routes and points with many technology motorbike taxi drivers to prevent and thoroughly handle violations.
