Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee has just issued Resolution No. 18-NQ/TU, unifying the policy of arranging communal administrative units. Accordingly, the whole province will have 41 communal administrative units including 36 communes and 5 wards, sharply decreasing compared to the present.
According to the report of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Project built by the Provincial People's Committee, only Tan Thanh commune (Minh Hoa district) remains the same, the remaining 40 units will be formed from the merger and consolidation of many existing communes and wards.
