On August 6, the Coast Guard Region 3 Command held a conference to announce the decision on the establishment of the Unmanned Vehicles Platoon at the unit.
The conference announced the Decision of the Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army on the establishment of the Unmanned Vehicle Platoon directly under the Staff Department of Coast Guard Region 3 Command; at the same time, announced and awarded personnel decisions for newly established units.
According to Senior Colonel Cao Vu Long - Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of Coast Guard Region 3 Command - the establishment of the Unmanned Vehicles Platoon is an important development step in the process of building the Coast Guard force in a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern direction; contributing to improving reconnaissance, supervision, situation grasping, data collection and transmission capacity to serve command, direction, and law enforcement at sea.
At the same time, requesting the Unmanned Vehicles Platoon to quickly stabilize its organization, strictly maintain regular order, and strictly comply with discipline; develop training plans, master equipment and machinery; proactively research and apply scientific and technological advances to improve the efficiency of exploiting and using unmanned vehicles.
The establishment of the Unmanned Vehicles Platoon shows the concern of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense and the Vietnam Coast Guard in promoting the application of science and technology in performing tasks, contributing to improving the overall quality, strength and ability to complete tasks of Coast Guard Region 3 Command, meeting the requirements of protecting sovereignty, maintaining security, order, and safety at sea in the new situation.
