On the evening of March 23, in Hanoi, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund held the 2024 Outstanding Young Faces of Vietnam Award Ceremony.
Speaking at the Award Ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the Outstanding Young Faces of Vietnam Award is an initiative with a high impact, of special significance, and is a noble award of the Central Youth Union.
The Prime Minister assessed that this year's Award with 10 Outstanding Vietnamese Young Faces and 8 Promising Vietnamese Young Faces will continue to have a wide and strong influence, creating prestige in the community, honoring young people with outstanding achievements in areas of social life such as: study, production labor, scientific research, creativity, culture and arts, physical education, sports, national defense and security, and community volunteering.
The Prime Minister hopes that the typical young faces of Vietnam in particular and Vietnamese youth in general should continue to promote the spirit of initiative, creativity, passion, and dedication of youth, dare to think, dare to do, dare to commit, dare to overcome their own limits, constantly strive to rise up, realize their aspirations, dreams, ambitions, and ideals; well implement the teaching of beloved Uncle Ho: "There is nothing difficult - Only afraid of intolerance - Going mountains and filling the sea - Determination will do it".
The Prime Minister requested the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Vietnam Youth Union to launch practical and effective emulation movements with profound humanity and have specific programs, plans, tasks and solutions to further promote the role and contributions and dedication of the Youth Union in all fields; focusing on the "Three Pioneers" and "Sex Key points".
The Three Pioneers include: Pioneering in innovative thinking and strategic vision. Vietnamese youth must think far, look wide; think deeply, do great things; value time, intelligence and decisiveness, be at the right time with creativity and dedication that are unlimited.
Second, pioneering in developing science and technology, innovation and national digital transformation.
Third, pioneering in ethnicizing human civilization into our country and internationalising an advanced culture, imbued with Vietnamese national identity to the world.
The "six focuses" include: Focus on implementing assigned political tasks; focus on arranging the apparatus; focus on promoting growth; focus on implementing social justice and progress, ensuring social security, improving the spiritual and material life of the people; focus on promoting international integration and focusing on strengthening national defense and security, ensuring social order and safety.
The Prime Minister hopes and believes that the young generation of Vietnam today should promote the spirit of patriotism, solidarity, join hands, be unanimous, be a pioneer force, a reliable reserve team and the trust of the Party, always carrying the will, aspiration, and enthusiasm of the youth "Intention - Intelligence - Great Aspiration", be the leading shock force with the whole country to strive to realize the aspiration to develop a rich, civilized, prosperous country, the people have a prosperous and happy life in the new era - the era of national growth.
According to the Organizing Committee, in 2024, the Standing Committee of the Award received 159 nominations from 55 units nationwide.
The Award Council went through two rounds of online selection and voting to find 10 Outstanding Young Faces of Vietnam and 8 Promising Young Faces of Vietnam.
Outstanding and promising Vietnamese Young Faces in 2024 were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Central Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Medals and cash (VND 50 million/person for Outstanding Vietnamese Young Faces and VND 20 million/person for Promising Vietnamese Young Faces).
