Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed Document No. 1026/TTg-CN dated November 28, 2024 of the Prime Minister on recognizing Phu Ly city to expand the inner city according to the criteria of a type II urban area under Ha Nam province.
Accordingly, Phu Ly city is recognized as a type II urban area under Ha Nam province with the inner city expanded to include 6 more communes: Liem Chung, Tien Hai, Tien Hiep, Tien Tan, Liem Tuyen, and Liem Tiet.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha assigned the Ministry of Construction and the People's Committee of Ha Nam province to take full responsibility for the contents, data, information, order and procedures of the report on reviewing the criteria for classifying the urban area of Phu Ly city with the inner city expansion according to the criteria for a type II urban area under Ha Nam province mentioned above, ensuring compliance with the provisions of law and related regulations.
On November 14, 2024, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 1288/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units of Ha Nam province for the 2023-2025 period.
Accordingly, in Phu Ly city, Chau Cau ward was established on the basis of merging the entire natural area of 0.36 km2, population of 12,439 people of Minh Khai ward; the entire natural area of 0.30 km2, population of 7,043 people of Luong Khanh Thien ward; the entire natural area of 0.58 km2, population of 10,784 people of Hai Ba Trung ward and the entire natural area of 0.19 km2, population of 11,644 people of Tran Hung Dao ward.
Merge the entire natural area of 3.38 km2 and the population of 8,888 people of Liem Chung commune into Liem Chinh ward; merge the entire natural area of 4.14 km2 and the population of 5,188 people of Tien Hai commune into Lam Ha ward.
At the same time, Tan Liem ward was established on the basis of merging the entire natural area of 3.31 km2, population of 5,433 people of Liem Tuyen commune and the entire natural area of 5.70 km2, population of 7,244 people of Liem Tiet commune.
Establish Tan Hiep ward on the basis of merging the entire natural area of 5.10 km2, population of 5,515 people of Tien Hiep commune and the entire natural area of 7.48 km2, population of 6,793 people of Tien Tan commune.
After the arrangement, Phu Ly city has 14 commune-level administrative units, including 10 wards and 4 communes.
