Delegate Tran Hoang Ngan (Ho Chi Minh City Delegation) said that in this session, the National Assembly passed many important Laws and Resolutions that have a great impact on the general socio-economic situation, especially removing many institutional bottlenecks in public investment and public asset management; related to taxes such as Value Added Tax, Special Consumption Tax, Corporate Income Tax... which have been carefully prepared and discussed enthusiastically in the parliament.
Regarding voters' opinions, this session the National Assembly has a supervisory report related to housing and social housing issues. Accordingly, the National Assembly will issue a resolution related to this content. The resolution is expected to remove obstacles and contribute to increasing the supply of commercial housing for the market. At this session, the National Assembly also reviewed the provisions of the Law on National Assembly Supervision, contributing to improving the effectiveness of National Assembly supervision work, meeting voters' expectations.
Delegate Nguyen Anh Tri (Hanoi) said that this was a long session with a lot of content, including many unexpected contents appearing right in the session. With the efforts of both the drafting agency and the National Assembly delegates, the session completed all the contents in the proposed and revised program.
According to delegates, at this session, issues related to healthcare, education and training, and social security were discussed frankly.
Policy, action and product go hand in hand
Delegate Trinh Xuan An (Dong Nai delegation) emphasized that this was a record-breaking session in terms of content, and also a session full of emotions. The session carried the spirit that the General Secretary said was “running and lining up at the same time” and not waiting for a transitional moment. Policy, action and product go hand in hand.
Many new draft laws were added to the session and discussed immediately, such as the National Assembly's Resolution on solutions to continue to remove difficulties for Vietnam Airlines, one law amending four laws, one law amending seven laws, and then the bills were passed right at the session... This demonstrates determination and resoluteness, while increasing the responsibility of the National Assembly's activities in response to the Party's requirements and the requirements of socio-economic development.
“The next important step is to put legal policies into practice from the provisions of these laws. This is not a simple story. The amount of work that the Government has to do is huge, requiring a lot of resources and people. In the coming time, we must continue to improve the law and the task of building institutions. Based on this session, we must have priorities on what to do first and what to do later to be truly effective,” said the delegate. The delegate said that this is a session that leaves a very big mark with many important issues. Those are the North-South high-speed railway, adjustments to Long Thanh airport, Ninh Thuan nuclear power... will go down in Vietnam's history as an epochal decision.
Exciting and high expectations in the questioning sessions
The question and answer session of this session is different from previous sessions in that it selected 3 groups of issues: Banking, healthcare and information and communication, one less group of issues than usual. However, the question and answer session was no less exciting as well as the expectations of voters and National Assembly deputies when the groups of issues selected were hot issues that had a great impact on life.
The commitments of the ministers have also become stronger, more specific and clearer.
