On the evening of May 3, at Hang Duong Cemetery (Con Dao District, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province), the candle burning ceremony to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs took place in a solemn and respectful atmosphere to commemorate and pay tribute to the outstanding children of the nation who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
Attending the gratitude candle lighting ceremony were Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia - Politburo member, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Mr. Nguyen Van Nen - Politburo member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Ms. Truong My Hoa - former Vice President; Ms. Vo Thi Anh Xuan - Vice President; Mr. Tran Quang Phuong - Vice President of the National Assembly.
Also participating were leaders of central ministries and branches; leaders of localities in the Southeast region, and former political prisoners of Con Dao.
In the tragic echo of the Soul Music, the delegates, the delegates presents the late General Secretary Le Hong Phong and the compatriots, he died for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the happiness of the people.

There have been 3,500 candleces burning in gratitude on the tombs of former General Secretary Le Hong Phong, patriotic leader Nguyen An Ninh and thousands of martyrs at Hang Duong Cemetery, creating an emotional scene, expressing the deep gratitude of today's generation to those who have fallen for the country.
After the candle burning ceremony to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and delegates continued to attend the 50th Anniversary of Con Dao Liberation Day (May 1, 1975 - May 1, 2025) and the political art program "Con Dao - Hung Ca Uoc Viet Nam".
