On the afternoon of November 13, the Hanoi People's Council held a thematic session (S session 27, 16th session of the Hanoi People's Council, term 2021-2026.
At this session, the City People's Council will complete and transfer key and important positions of the City government.
Accordingly, the 16th Hanoi People's Council dismissed Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan from the position of Chairman of the City People's Council. Previously, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan did not participate in the Hanoi Party Executive Committee for the 2025-2030 term due to the expiration of the prescribed age.
Ms. Phung Thi Hong Ha, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi People's Council was elected to hold the position of Chairwoman of the Hanoi People's Council, term XVI, 2021-2026.
The delegates also voted and passed a resolution confirming the results of the dismissal of Mr. Tran Sy Thanh from the position of Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term, having been elected by the Central Executive Committee to hold the position of Chairman of the 13th Central Inspection Committee.
With 100% of the delegates present in agreement, Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, was elected Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.
At the meeting, delegates voted to dismiss Mr. Le Hong Son (waiting for leave from the regime) and Mr. Nguyen Trong Dong (receiving the new assignment); elected Mr. Tran The Cuong, Director of the Department of Education and Training to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the City People's Council; elected Mr. Nguyen Xuan Luu, Director of the Department of Finance as Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee.
After the consolidation, the leadership of the Capital government includes Chairman Nguyen Duc Trung and Vice Chairmen Duong Duc Tuan, Nguyen Manh Quyen, Truong Viet Dung, Nguyen Xuan Luu and Ms. Vu Thu Ha.
Speaking at the meeting, Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc believes and hopes that comrades in their new positions will continue to inherit the tradition of the thousand-year-old capital with culture and heroism, the spirit of solidarity, bravery, intelligence, creativity, continue to innovate, aspirate to rise up strongly, promote the achievements that the previous comrades have achieved, together with the Standing Committee of the City People's Council and People's Committee, continue to closely follow the instructions of the Central Committee, the City Party Committee and the wishes of voters, successfully complete the assigned tasks, build and develop Hanoi worthy of the position of a thousand-year-old capital, a center of culture, political economy, a center for growth and innovation, actively contribute to the overall development of the country, worthy of the trust and trust of the people and voters.
