Decree No. 89/2025/ND-CP stipulates that the types of aircraft imported into Vietnam are one of the following organizations: US aviation authorities (FAA), European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), Brazilian aviation authorities, Canadian aviation authorities, Russian aviation authorities, UK aviation authorities, Chinese aviation authorities (CAACs) (CAAC) or recognition of the Ministry of Construction or Affairs.
Earlier, Decree No. 92/2016/ND-CP was amended and supplemented by Decree No. 89/2019/ND-CP stipulating: Types of aircraft imported into Vietnam were aviation by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) or Vietnam Aviation Authority certified aircraft certificates.
According to the Government Portal, the Ministry of Construction said that the limit of allowing aircraft operating in Vietnam only has a certificate issued by the Vietnam Aviation Administration, or FAA or EASA (without allowing the aircraft to be granted a certificate from other countries) will limit the opportunities of airlines in accessing aircraft designed, manufactured by other countries with science and technology.
Based on the practical needs of aviation activities, the work of ensuring aviation safety, the Ministry of Construction said that the repair of the above regulations will create conditions for Vietnamese aviation enterprises to take the initiative in aircraft supply, actively operating aircraft.
Thereby, enhancing the improvement of international friendship cooperation with traditional partners.
