Pilot activities to spread Vietnamese spirit around the world

In 2025, the National Unity Day of Overseas Vietnamese will be held on a pilot basis to spread the Vietnamese spirit around the world.

On the morning of January 19, within the framework of the Homeland Spring 2025 program, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front held a meeting to honor outstanding overseas Vietnamese groups and individuals in 2024.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Do Van Chien - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front - shared: "In 2024, our country will have enough to eat, enough to spend, enough to export, "have enough to eat and save" to build and develop the country".

Entering a new era, Mr. Do Van Chien emphasized that Vietnam needs to "truly consider businesses and people as the center of all policies".

He informed that in 2024, the Congresses of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels and the 10th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front were held very successfully, in which the number of members of the Vietnam Fatherland Front who are overseas Vietnamese increased.

The Fatherland Front has submitted a proposal to the Secretariat and the Secretariat has agreed to pilot the organization of the National Great Unity Day of Overseas Vietnamese in 2025, with the first location held in the Czech Republic, to represent the Czech Republic and Europe.

Mr. Do Van Chien emphasized that organizing the national solidarity day of overseas Vietnamese is also to spread the Vietnamese spirit in the world. He noted that there are two countries in the world that have recognized Vietnamese people as ethnic minorities, including the Czech Republic and Slovakia. He affirmed that wherever it is possible to promote the recognition of overseas Vietnamese people as ethnic minorities, Vietnam will make efforts to promote it.

Also at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang - Chairwoman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese - said that although the world situation has many fluctuations and difficulties, the Vietnamese community abroad is still very united and strong, developing comprehensively in all aspects. Many Vietnamese have participated in the political life of the host country, successful businessmen and intellectuals and experts have contributed a lot to the country. 100 overseas Vietnamese from 32 countries and territories returning to the country to attend the Homeland Spring 2025 program represent more than 6 million Vietnamese people living, studying and working around the world.

Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang said that overseas Vietnamese from far away places have made the effort to return home to celebrate Tet, showing their attachment and affection for their homeland and country.

Some representatives of overseas Vietnamese in the Spring Homeland 2025 program, including Most Venerable Thich Duc Tuan - Member of the Executive Council, Deputy of the International Buddhist Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, President of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in America, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Lien - Head of the Vietnamese Language Club in Malaysia, Vietnamese Language Ambassador 2023... shared some proposals to promote the work of Vietnamese people abroad.

Also at the meeting, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front honored 8 collectives and 18 outstanding overseas Vietnamese individuals who have contributed to the activities of overseas Vietnamese in 2024.
