On the occasion of the 58th anniversary of the founding of the ASEAN Association and Vietnam's 30th participation in ASEAN, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent a message to ASEAN leaders and ASEAN people.
The message is written:
On the occasion of the 58th anniversary of the founding of the ASEAN, on behalf of General Secretary To Lam and leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam, I would like to send my sincere greetings, warm greetings and best wishes to all ASEAN leaders and ASEAN people.
We highly appreciate that after 58 years of formation and development, ASEAN has grown stronger in both stature and position, playing an increasingly important role in the region and the world, upholding the principle of consensus and unity in diversity and becoming a dynamic development area and the focus of growth.
ASEAN has approved the 2045 Vision and is striving to make this vision a reality. For Vietnam, after 30 years of participating in ASEAN, along with the growth of ASEAN, we have also matured and grown strongly, with the dedicated, selfless and pure help of ASEAN countries.
We strive to learn from ASEAN countries and have issued a Vision 2045 to become a high-income developed country, in line with the General Vision of the ASEAN Community. We hope that ASEAN countries will support the realization of this vision.
Vietnam will continue to implement an independent, self-reliant, diversified, multilateral foreign policy, be a good friend, a trusted partner with all countries in the world, and a responsible member of the international community, for the goal of peace, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.
We are committed to continuing to contribute and make every effort to build a united, consistent, unified ASEAN in diversity and make ASEAN develop rapidly and sustainably based on science, technology and innovation.
