On the morning of January 21, local time, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired the WEF Vietnam National Strategy Dialogue (CSD) with the theme "Unleashing Vietnam's growth potential: Promoting investment and innovation for a prosperous future".
The 55th WEF Davos Conference was attended by about 3,000 leaders of countries, international organizations and the world's leading corporations. This was an opportunity to discuss development orientations, priorities and opportunities that Vietnam can bring to its partners.
Despite differing positions and an uncertain world, the annual conference will foster a spirit of constructive cooperation and optimism with the aim of shaping the coming smart era in a more sustainable and inclusive way, said WEF Founder and Executive Chairman Klaus Schwab.
Meanwhile, WEF President and CEO Borge Brende stressed the urgent need for coordinated action, noting that the annual conference takes place at a time when global instability is at an unprecedented level in a generation due to geopolitical tensions, economic fragmentation and accelerating climate change. The Prime Minister is expected to have a busy schedule during the two-day conference in Davos. He will chair and attend many dialogue sessions and discussions on various fields and issues, such as the plenary session on “ASEAN: Connecting to Reach Out”; and a special dialogue between the WEF and the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister will also chair seminars on global trade and development; “High-tech investment in Vietnam - Taking off in the smart era”; “Vietnam in the digital era, the future from innovation and technology”; “Digital infrastructure - Green energy: Rising in the smart era”…
The Prime Minister will meet with leaders of many countries and international organizations; leaders of multinational corporations to promote relations between Vietnam and countries and international organizations, attract investment and promote trade. Here, the Prime Minister will convey important messages about Vietnam's determination, aspiration and vision towards strategic development goals in the next 20 years. This is the first multilateral foreign activity in 2025 of Vietnam's senior leaders; continuing to affirm Vietnam as a reliable partner, an active, responsible and potential member of the international community.
Along with attending and participating in activities within the framework of the 55th WEF Davos, the Prime Minister also had bilateral activities in Switzerland to strengthen political trust and deepen Vietnam - Switzerland relations, promoting the bilateral relationship to a new height.
VNA quoted Ambassador Mai Phan Dung, Head of the Vietnamese Delegation to the United Nations, the World Trade Organization and other international organizations in Geneva (Switzerland), as saying that the participation of senior Vietnamese leaders in the WEF Davos Conference aims to realize many important strategic goals.
The conference is an opportunity for Vietnam to establish and strengthen important partnerships, promote cooperation between the government and the private sector; and an opportunity for Vietnam to participate in global initiatives on sustainable development, energy transition and digital economy.
Vietnam's participation at the conference helps enhance the country's position and prestige, affirming Vietnam as a reliable, active and responsible partner in the international community.
