Also attending were Politburo member and Secretary of the Party Central Committee: Phan Dinh Trac - Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission; Nguyen Trong Nghia - Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Politburo member: General Phan Van Giang - Minister of National Defense; General Luong Tam Quang - Minister of Public Security; comrades: Le Hoai Trung - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs; Bui Thanh Son - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister; Vu Hong Thanh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly.
Also attending were members of the Party Central Committee, alternate members of the Party Central Committee; leaders of central departments, ministries, branches, and agencies; leaders and former leaders of VNA; relatives of martyrs of VNA and many reporters, editors, technicians, and staff of VNA through the ages; representatives of many international news agencies and press organizations in Vietnam.
The 80th Anniversary of the Traditional Day is an occasion for news reporters to pay tribute to the contributions and sacrifices of their predecessors - those who have contributed to building the Vietnam Revolutionary Press over the past century, creating the glorious tradition of the heroic national news agency; at the same time affirming the determination to strongly innovate, pioneering in orienting social ideology, accompanying the revolutionary cause of the Party and the country, worthy of the role of a reliable strategic information center in the era of prosperous, civilized and prosperous development of the nation.
Exactly eight decades ago, on September 15, 1945, from Bach Mai Radio Station, Vietnam News Agency, the title given by Uncle Ho, distributed to the whole world the Declaration of Independence and the list of Provisional Governments of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in three languages: Vietnamese - English - French. That sacred moment was deeply imprinted in the history of the country's press and became the Traditional Day of VNA.
Throughout 80 years of building and developing under the leadership of the Party and State, the press workers have made constant efforts, overcome all difficulties and challenges, and implement President Ho Chi Minh's advice: "The faster the news, the faster the resistance wins".
In the resistance wars for national independence, national reunification and defense of the Fatherland, journalists - news soldiers recorded events as historical witnesses, and directly participated and contributed to creating those historical events. A typical example is the Liberation News Agency (VNA), which, during its 15 years of operation under enemy bombs and bullets (1960-1975), has turned press works into sharp revolutionary weapons, contributing significantly to the glorious feats of our nation towards the day of national reunification.
Nearly 260 reporters, editors and technicians have heroically sacrificed their lives across the battlefields, accounting for more than 25% of the staff and employees of VNA during the war and more than 50% of the country's martyrs. That is a huge loss but also a source of pride for VNA's contribution to the cause of the national liberation revolution.
In response to the requirements of the new situation, VNA continues to promote tradition, uphold the foundational value, constantly innovate and create, and effectively carry out strategic information tasks. Early grasping the trend of digital communication, VNA has comprehensively developed the digital ecosystem, gradually applying modern communication technologies and artificial intelligence to the management, production, production and dissemination of information. In many information routes, VNA plays the role of the main unit providing information and images; playing a good role as the host media at important international events in Vietnam.
With an ecosystem of more than 60 multimedia, multi-platform, and multi-linguistic information products, VNA has effectively contributed to orienting public opinion, strengthening people's trust in the leadership of the Party and State; fighting against negative phenomena and false arguments of hostile forces; protecting territorial sovereignty, maintaining political and social stability; affirming its pioneering role on the ideological front.
