On the evening of December 12, in Hanoi, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the 11th National Award ceremony for Foreign Information - 2025.
Attending the event were: Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Foreign Information Work, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army Nguyen Trong Nghia; Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Trinh Van Quyet; Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung.
At the award ceremony, the Prime Minister and leaders of the Party, State, ministries and branches, on behalf of the Organizing Committee, presented 8 First Prizes; 16 Second Prizes; 24 Third Prizes and 40 Encouragement Prizes to outstanding works and authors.
Speaking at the event, the Prime Minister emphasized that foreign information work plays an important role and is of strategic significance, and is given special attention and direction by the Party and State. Despite many difficulties and challenges, foreign information work has achieved many outstanding results in recent times.
The Prime Minister assessed that the National Award for Foreign Information is of great significance, contributing to affirming the role and influence of foreign information work.
Promoting the success of previous events, this year's awards have 6 outstanding points:
First, attracting the large participation of central and local agencies, newspapers, organizations, businesses, researchers... (attracting 2,412 entries, double the average number of previously held entries).
Second, the theme fully covers important events and achievements of the country, policies, guidelines and creative innovation policies of the Party and State, promoting the image of the country, people and cultural values of Vietnam.
Third, the quality of works is improved, expressing the thinking, vision, creativity and meticulousness and seriousness of the authors.
Fourth, the forms of expression are diverse and modern, strongly applying new forms and means of communication, digital communication.
Fifth, the entries of foreigners demonstrate a deep, positive understanding, a new and rich perspective on Vietnam.
Sixth, the organization of the tournament has many innovations, the first application of digital technology, innovation in online participation methods and scoring; the value of the prize has been significantly increased.
According to the Prime Minister, in the new era of development, along with national defense and security, foreign affairs are identified as important and regular tasks, contributing to protecting the Fatherland early, from afar and developing the country quickly and sustainably.
In which, foreign information work plays a very important role, being a strategic element in the overall national soft power.
In the coming time, the Prime Minister emphasized the need to innovate thinking and methods, ensure strategic proactiveness both in the short term and in the long term; build a systematic program with rich content, attractive and convincing forms, ensuring easy access, modernity, and multi-medium.
Promote the application of digital technology, effectively exploit global communication platforms (social networks, digital platforms, artificial intelligence, big data, etc.), attract more and more and serve foreigners and domestic people well.
Build a team of foreign information workers with courage, sharp intelligence, creativity, responsibility, heart, and vision; Dedicate all your efforts, commit courageously, not afraid of difficulties and hardships, actively push back negativity.
