On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Vietnamese Family Day, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, I cordially send to Vietnamese families at home and abroad; grandparents, parents, teenagers, and children my warm regards and best wishes.
Deep in the soul of every Vietnamese person, family is a place to anchor memories, cultivate personality, and support people in the face of ups and downs of life. From family customs, family traditions to ancestral worship morality, from maternal love, village and neighborhood affection to compatriotism, families are always attached to lineages, communities, villages, homeland, and country; fostering compassion, loyalty, sense of responsibility and love for the Fatherland.
Over the past 25 years, Vietnamese Family Day has become an opportunity for us to cherish and spread the sustainable values of family. The development of the country is not only measured by economic growth, modern works, scientific and technological achievements... but also measured by human quality, cultural depth, peace of each couple, children, each home and compassion of the community.
Our country is entering a new stage of development with new opportunities. The market economy, urbanization, labor migration, digital transformation, population aging... are impacting family life every day. What is worrying is not only material difficulties, but also the sparseness of dialogue, fading of family traditions and customs; decline of family ethics, gaps between generations, injuries caused by violence, abuse, indifference and pragmatic lifestyles. Therefore, caring for families must be seen as caring for the foundation of culture, ethics, personality and traditional Vietnamese people, new socialist people. Each development policy needs to aim for a safer, more equal, and more humane family; children are protected, women are respected, the elderly are supported, and all members live in love, discipline and responsibility.
Talking about family is also reminding us to pay more attention to homeless children, street children, orphans, orphans, homeless children and those who do not have a home to return to. It is necessary to promote models of charity shelters, social protection, alternative families, adopting children, "border guard station adopted children", "commune police adopted children" and appropriate forms of support, so that each disadvantaged child can feel the warmth of the family, be protected, study and grow up healthily.
I hope that every Vietnamese family will preserve good traditional values through specific daily actions: respecting grandparents and parents; loving and caring for children; faithful, equal, and sharing husbands and wives; generations know how to listen, respect, and support each other. Preserving families is preserving family traditions, preserving culture, and preserving the nation's lasting strength.
Wishing Vietnamese families always good health, peace, progress, happiness and success.
