Prime Minister appoints Permanent Deputy Minister of Home Affairs

The Prime Minister decided to accept and appoint Mr. Do Thanh Binh - Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee to hold the position of Permanent Deputy Minister of Home Affairs.

On September 30, the Government Office announced that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had just signed Decision No. 2159/QD-TTg on receiving and appointing Mr. Do Thanh Binh to the position of Permanent Deputy Minister of Home Affairs.

According to the decision, the Prime Minister decided to accept and appoint Mr. Do Thanh Binh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee - to hold the position of Permanent Deputy Minister of Home Affairs.

This decision takes effect from September 28, 2025.

Mr. Do Thanh Binh was born on March 15, 1967, from Ca Mau province. Professional qualifications: Master of Economics, Bachelor of Political Economics. He was a member of the 13th Party Central Committee, a delegate to the 15th National Assembly.

Mr. Do Thanh Binh grew up from the grassroots, having held many positions in Kien Giang (old) such as: Secretary of the District Youth Union, Chairman of the District People's Committee, Secretary of the Vinh Thuan District Party Committee; Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee.

In January 2025, Mr. Do Thanh Binh was transferred and appointed by the Politburo to hold the position of Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

After Can Tho City merged with Hau Giang and Soc Trang provinces, Mr. Do Thanh Binh was appointed by the Politburo and the Secretariat to hold the position of Secretary of the new Can Tho City Party Committee.
