According to the Government Newspaper, on the afternoon of October 30, local time, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the opening ceremony of FPT Corporation's Middle East office located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and witnessed the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between FPT and THIQAH Company.
The opening ceremony took place during the Prime Minister's working trip to attend the 8th Future Investment Initiative Conference (FII8) and visit and work in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
This is the first time a Vietnamese enterprise has been licensed to open a regional office in Saudi Arabia - the capital of the largest economy in the Gulf, affirming FPT's commitment to the country's digital transformation with Vision 2030.
As the first Vietnamese enterprise licensed to operate in Saudi Arabia, FPT is ready to meet the growing demand for modern technology in the Middle East, a region with a young and tech-savvy population, with many economic sectors being increasingly digitized.
FPT's AI-focused strategy, integrating AI into all of its services and solutions, is in line with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, which aims to diversify the economy, promote innovation and improve public services through technological advances.
Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that after 25 years of establishing diplomatic relations, the concern is that economic, trade and investment relations between Vietnam and Saudi Arabia have not developed commensurate with the political and diplomatic relations and the aspirations of the people of the two countries. Therefore, the two sides need to take action, put forward specific cooperation programs and projects to enhance economic relations, connect the two economies, complement each other, develop together, and win together.
The Prime Minister welcomed FPT's opening of a regional office in the Middle East, cooperation in training human resources, developing and launching products in which FPT has strengths, and thanked the agencies, friends of Saudi Arabia and other countries for supporting and helping FPT to operate here.
According to the Prime Minister, if FPT wants to achieve long-term, sustainable success and create synergy, it must follow Saudi Arabia's development trends of digital economy, green economy, circular economy, sharing economy, knowledge economy, emerging industries related to artificial intelligence, cloud computing, Internet of Things, etc.
At the same time, FPT needs to operate in compliance with the law, harmonize the interests of the State, people and businesses, actively carry out social activities; consult and learn the thinking, breakthrough vision and strategy of Saudi Arabia to surpass itself, successfully cooperate in investment, contribute to the strong and prosperous development of each country and the happiness and prosperity of the people of the two countries.
