Prime Minister proposes connecting Vietnam - Kyrgyzstan railways and Central Asian countries

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that Vietnam - Kyrgyzstan promote railway connections between the two countries and thereby with countries in the Central Asian region.

According to VNA, following a series of bilateral contacts on the sidelines of the 16th World Economic Forum Pioneers' Annual Meeting in Tianjin, China, on the morning of June 25 (local time), Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Kyrgyz Prime Minister Adylbek Kasimalyev.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his pleasure at meeting again with Kyrgyzstan Prime Minister Adylbek Kasimalyev after Prime Minister Kasimalyev's official visit to Vietnam in March 2025 and affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to the traditional friendship with Kyrgyzstan.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh conveyed a letter from Politburo member and President Luong Cuong inviting the President of Kyrgyzstan to attend the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime in Hanoi in October 2025.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnamese ministries and branches are actively and effectively implementing the agreements that have been agreed to be promoted by the leaders of the two countries within the framework of the Prime Minister Kasimalyev's visit. Accordingly, the Prime Minister suggested that the two sides promote economic and trade cooperation, railway connections between the two countries and thereby connect with countries in Central Asia.

The Prime Minister thanked and suggested that Kyrgyzstan continue to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to invest and do business in Kyrgyzstan and for the Vietnamese community in Kyrgyzstan to stabilize their lives, integrate well and contribute to the bilateral relationship.

The Kyrgyz Prime Minister expressed his emotion in recalling the good memories during his recent official visit to Vietnam, and thanked the warm welcome that the leaders and people of Vietnam gave him.

Prime Minister Adylbekimalyev agreed with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's proposals on promoting bilateral relations, including the early establishment of the Vietnam - Kyrgyzstan Intergovernmental Committee this year, signing important agreements in the fields of economy - trade, investment; creating conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to explore the market, seek investment opportunities and support trade cooperation between the two countries.

To further deepen the relationship between the two countries, the Kyrgyz Prime Minister invited Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Vietnamese leaders to soon visit Kyrgyzstan, affirming his desire to welcome Vietnamese ministerial delegations to discuss and carefully prepare for specific cooperation between the two countries before high-level visits.

The two sides agreed to increase extensive political exchanges and dialogues at all levels, especially at high levels, and between the Governments, ministries, branches and localities of the two countries; closely coordinate to effectively implement the agreements agreed upon by the two countries' senior leaders; continue to closely coordinate to promote cooperation in all aspects, and enhance mutual understanding between the two peoples.
