On the morning of July 23, at the National Convention Center, Hanoi city, the 2026 National Conference to show gratitude to people with meritorious services to the revolution took place and launched a movement to promote care for people with meritorious services to the revolution, towards the 80th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2027).
Politburo Member, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and leaders of the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front attended the program.
The conference was attended by more than 310 delegates with meritorious services to the revolution nationwide, including delegates from 34 provinces and cities across the country. In particular, the Conference was attended by 19 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers.
Activities to commend and express gratitude to people with meritorious services to the revolution are one of the events with profound humanistic meaning, organized regularly and continuously for more than 20 years.
On the occasion of the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day, General Secretary and President To Lam sent letters of gratitude to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, relatives of martyrs, veterans and their families.
The letter reads: "The "sacrifice and dedication" of generations of fathers and brothers has made national history more glorious, fostering Vietnamese bravery, character and strength through all eras.
The blood of the heroic martyrs has further embellished the colors of the national flag; the names of the martyrs may be engraved on the tombstones or not yet written as names, but the soul, spirit and prestige of the comrades will forever exist with the Vietnamese country, living in the hearts of the people and shining in the country's development journey.
War invalids, sick soldiers, relatives of martyrs and people with meritorious services to the country will forever be a sacred and inseparable part of the nation and the revolutionary cause. Gratitude is the age-old morality of the Vietnamese nation, a political responsibility, an order from the heart and honor of every Vietnamese person".
