Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that Vietnam will consider opening an embassy in the Dominican Republic at an appropriate time.

On the morning of November 21 (local time), continuing his official visit to the Dominican Republic, in the capital Santo Domingo, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the Vietnam - Dominican Republic business forum.

Speaking at the seminar, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the opinions expressed, showing the interest and enthusiasm of businesses in promoting the connection between the two economies; at the same time, emphasizing that the two sides still have a lot of potential and opportunities for cooperation with very high feasibility.

During this visit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and leaders of the Dominican Republic agreed to bring the relationship between the two countries to a new height, to a new stage of development.

Accordingly, the two sides will continue to strengthen friendship and good political relations; negotiate and sign trade agreements, investment protection agreements, visa agreements to create a favorable legal foundation for businesses to cooperate, invest and promote travel and people-to-people exchange.

At the same time, the two sides have identified a number of specific projects to be implemented as soon as possible in the fields of energy; digital transformation, telecommunications, artificial intelligence, semiconductors; agriculture, fertilizer production, chemicals, rice; construction; electric vehicles... In these fields, Vietnam has large state-owned and private corporations and groups that can cooperate and invest immediately.

The Prime Minister said that Vietnam will consider opening an embassy in the Dominican Republic at an appropriate time; at the same time, research and promote the establishment of a working group and a joint committee to promote trade and investment between the two countries. Enterprises of one country can access the market of the whole region through the other country, and Vietnamese enterprises cooperating and investing in the Dominican Republic can consider this a "springboard" and gateway to enter the Caribbean region.

Calling on businesses from both sides to seize opportunities for cooperation and investment, the Prime Minister requested that both sides ensure the legitimate rights and interests of businesses, facilitate their operations and development, ensure profits and contribute to consolidating and enhancing bilateral relations, helping each side build a strong, self-reliant and autonomous economy associated with proactive and active international integration, in a deep, substantive and effective manner.

The Head of Government emphasized that this is not only a matter of interest for businesses and the two countries, but also a noble sentiment of the heart and a product of intelligence, affirming the responsibility for the relationship between the two countries that was founded by previous leaders.

Hoping that both sides urgently identify specific projects and specific implementation roadmaps with a clear vision of people, work, time, and products, quickly bringing practical benefits, the Prime Minister said that time, intelligence, and timely decisiveness are very important factors to connect the two economies and effectively cooperate between businesses.
