On the morning of May 28, during the official visit to Malaysia and attending the 46th ASEAN Summit and related summits, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the discussion session "Smart grid: Connecting through autonomous AI".
Also attending the discussion session were Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim; General Director of G42 Group (UAE) - Peng Xiao; coordinator was Malaysia's Minister of Industry and Trade Tengku Zafrul Aziz.
In the first question, the Malaysian Minister of Industry and Trade asked Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to assess how he views the cooperation between ASEAN and the GCC in developing human resources, infrastructure and AI governance so that countries in the ASEAN region are not behind in this field?
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that the two regions can complement each other very clearly in the field of AI and to connect the two economies, connect development, including AI connection, businesses and people are the subject, the center, play a decisive role, the State plays a role in creating.
We must coordinate closely and effectively in all aspects of the profession and field, promote people-to-people exchanges, education and training cooperation, institutional design in the direction of both managing and developing, connecting, harmonizing institutions and developing AI infrastructure, smart governance, the Prime Minister said.
Regarding questions related to opportunities and challenges from AI as well as solutions to limit negativity, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated that we do not need to be afraid but need to encourage and promote the development of AI more and more, the stronger, more active, more effective, ensuring the flow of open but safe and controllable AI development. This is an issue for managers, businesses, and technology companies.
"People invented AI, not AI invented humans, so we cannot let AI beat humans or replace all humans, let humans lose all jobs or all creativity" - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh shared.
Referring to the fact that countries with many high technologies are still limited in transportation, and Vietnam is also being limited in high-tech exports, the Prime Minister emphasized that if we want autonomy, we must develop.
"If Vietnam is transferred technology, it will develop faster, but if it is not transferred, it must still develop, must explore, the more pressure, the more effort, creating motivation for development" - he shared.
"In short, in parallel with promoting the development of AI to serve communication, production and business, and development in general, it is necessary to control, ensure safety, civilization, and humanity with the spirit of having a smooth, modern infrastructure, smart governance, open institutions, promote development and control" - said the Prime Minister.
After the Malaysian Prime Minister's speech on ASEAN, GCC and China cooperation in the field of AI, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that the three regions can complement and support each other to promote different potentials, outstanding opportunities, competitive advantages to develop together, win together, enjoy joy and happiness when achieving common results.
