General Secretary To Lam believes South Africa will successfully organize the G20 Summit

General Secretary To Lam affirmed that the visit of the First Deputy Secretary General of the Party of ANC will contribute to tightening the relationship between the two Parties and promoting the relationship between Vietnam and South Africa.

On May 20, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary To Lam received First Deputy General Secretary of the ruling African National Congress (ANC) Party of South Africa, Nomvula Mokonyane.

At the meeting, General Secretary To Lam expressed his joy and welcoming the First Deputy Secretary General of the Nomvula Mokonyane Party, leading the High -Level ANC delegation to visit Vietnam on the occasion of many important events of Vietnam.

Recalling the impressions of the high -ranking phone call with Mr. Cyril Ramaphosa - Chairman of the ANC Party, South African President in April, General Secretary To Lam affirmed that the first Deputy Secretary -General of the ANC Party will contribute to tightening the two party relations and further promoting the friendship, cooperation and good tradition between Vietnam and South Africa.

The First Deputy Secretary General of the Party of ANC Nomvula Mokonyane thanked the delegation for their warm welcome and conveyed the sincere greetings of Party Chairman of the Party of ANC, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa to General Secretary To Lam and leaders of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The first Deputy Secretary General Nomvula Mokonyane emphasized that the delegation's visit to Vietnam was in order to deploy the results of the high -ranking phone call between General Secretary To Lam and the Chairman of the ANC Party, the President of South Africa, expressing the ANC Party's commitment in promoting the cooperation of the two parties, the two countries, which were very important in the context of great changes in South Africa and the world.

Information to General Secretary To Lam about the good results at the meeting with the Standing Committee Secretary Tran Cam Tu on the morning of May 19, of which the highlight of the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the ANC Party, Ms. Nomvula Mokonyane emphasized not only political significance but also need actual cooperation activities in the coming time.

The First Deputy Secretary General of the ANC Party hopes to welcome Vietnamese senior leaders to attend the G20 Political parties Conference and the G20 Summit held in South Africa in November 2025.

General Secretary To Lam thanked Mr. Cyril Ramaphosa, Chairman of the ANC Party, President of South Africa for his good feelings and invitation to the Vietnamese leaders; expressed his confidence that South Africa will successfully organize the G20 Summit and affirmed that Vietnam will send high-ranking leaders to attend this important event.

The General Secretary hopes to soon welcome President of the ANC and South African President Ramaphosa to visit Vietnam, in order to continue to strengthen political trust and bring the relationship between the two Parties and countries to new heights.

The General Secretary welcomed the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the two parties, requesting the authorities to have a specific plan to implement the content of cooperation agreed in the Memorandum.

The two leaders agreed to promote economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries, identifying this as an important pillar in bilateral cooperation, and assessed that there is still a lot of room for cooperation between the two sides in this field; at the same time, strengthen cooperation in the fields of defense - security and culture, people-to-people exchanges to increase connectivity and solidarity between the two peoples.
