Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh conveyed a letter from General Secretary To Lam inviting Lao and Cambodian leaders to attend the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day celebration.

On May 26, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a working breakfast with Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet and Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone on the occasion of an official visit to Malaysia, attending the 46th ASEAN Summit and related Summits in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the three parties agreed to promote the implementation of the border development cooperation, which focuses on connecting the transport infrastructure, energy, trade, digital transformation, human resources and effectively promoting the mainland border gate system between the three countries in order to create maximum favor for border trade, socio -economic development of border provinces; Coordinate with research and establishment of cross -border economic zones, review and amend and supplement agreements to create a clear legal corridor to make efforts to raise trade turnover between Vietnam and Laos to US $ 5 billion and Vietnam - Cambodia to US $ 20 billion; promote the initiative "3 countries, 1 destination" and coordinate with Thailand to implement projects connecting transportation between 4 countries.

The three Prime Ministers shared the security of one country is also the benefit of the other; re -commit to cooperating to ensure political stability, security and social safety in each country and maintain order and order in the border area; Promote prevention of illegal crimes, combat against invasion, protect the friendship, peace, stability and development; Believing meetings between 3 Defense Ministers, 3 Ministers of Public Security/Home Affairs and 3 Foreign Ministers will contribute to the realization of agreements and directions of senior leaders of 3 countries.

The three Prime Ministers emphasized that preserving and promoting the tradition of solidarity and mutual support between Vietnam - Cambodia - Laos is more necessary and important than ever, as one of the key factors promoting close cooperation between the three countries.

The three Prime Ministers agreed to continue to regularly exchange visits and meetings with the three sides at all levels; prioritize innovation in forms of propaganda on cooperation achievements and the unchanging historical value of the solidarity and friendship relationship, especially the mutual sacrifice between the three countries and three peoples; promote increased solidarity between young leaders, young parliamentarians, youth and people of the three countries.

On that basis, the three Prime Ministers agreed to continue to closely direct and urge ministries, branches and localities to concretize the contents of the agreement and bilateral and cooperation programs between the three countries; consider researching and establishing new cooperation mechanisms to ensure effectiveness and increase cohesion.

The three Prime Ministers agreed to continue to strengthen cooperation in education, training, tourism, culture, science and technology; in which Vietnam is ready to increase the number of high-quality scholarships for Lao and Cambodian students.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also respectfully conveyed the letter of General Secretary To Lam to General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith and President of the Cambodian People's Party and President of the Cambodian Senate Hun Sen to invite them to attend the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day.
