Speaking at the opening ceremony held in Hai Phong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the Party and State always pay special attention to science, technology and innovation, considering this one of the top national policies for rapid and sustainable development. In particular, creative startups are one of the new growth drivers, creating new productive forces for development in the new era.
The Prime Minister also said that the key requirement for developing the national startup ecosystem is to attract resources from international and national corporations; nurture and develop many technology unicorns in new technology fields; and at the same time, create a comprehensive, inclusive and sustainable creative startup ecosystem.
The Prime Minister also directed that creative startups must have the consensus of the entire political system, people, and businesses, with people and businesses as the center, subject, goal, resource, and driving force for creative startups. In particular, there needs to be attention and support for the young generation to start creative startups.
Creative startups also need new thinking, new awareness, new ways of doing things, with a supportive, cooperative, long-term, stable mindset, for long-term benefits. Creative startups need to dare to think, dare to do, dare to accept risks, dare to be a pioneer in every action, commit to the interests of the nation, people and personal interests.
The creative startup ecosystem must be an important pillar to promote growth model innovation, create institutional breakthroughs, and promote new business models. Along with that, the creative startup ecosystem must be an environment to nurture and train the future generation of entrepreneurs and technologists.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also pointed out a number of key tasks and solutions to promote the creative startup ecosystem: focusing on perfecting institutions for innovation and entrepreneurship; clearly identifying priority areas, focusing on creating new production forces, strategic areas such as green economy, digital economy, circular economy, pioneering technologies such as artificial intelligence, semiconductor chips...; developing high-quality human resources and creative startup movements; promoting international integration in creative startups...
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that the Government will create all favorable conditions to support and promote the development of the creative startup ecosystem. In particular, it will focus on directing the review and completion of strategies, mechanisms, policies and solutions to strongly promote innovation and creative startups with the spirit of creating all favorable conditions and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of the business community, investors and people.
Through 9 times of organization, TECHFEST Vietnam has attracted 21 thousand attendees, more than 450 investors, more than 1.4 thousand creative startups and more than 800 domestic and international investment connections.
TECHFEST Vietnam 2024 is organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology in coordination with the People's Committee of Hai Phong City. This is a major national event on innovative startups, of international scope, attracting the attention of policy-making agencies, managers, corporations, enterprises, innovative startup support organizations, domestic and international investment funds; connecting domestic and international resources for the Vietnamese innovative startup ecosystem, contributing to the development of the innovative startup community, affirming Vietnam's position on the global innovative startup map.
From November 26 to November 28, TECHFEST Vietnam 2024 takes place with main events and a series of typical side events attracting the participation of scientists, experts, large corporations, and technology unicorns such as: High-level policy dialogue forum, exhibition of innovative startup products/services; a series of in-depth seminars on developing the innovative startup ecosystem; Vietnam's Innovative Startup Talent Search Contest; opening of the Hai Phong Innovative Startup Coffee Program; opening of Innovative Startup Support Centers at universities.
