On May 21, at the Government Headquarters, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Mr. Chau Gia Nghia - President of Asia - Pacific of the Power China Construction Group (PowerChina) and a group of contractors and cooperation partners in Vietnam.
At the meeting, the Prime Minister hoped that PowerChina Group would strengthen cooperation with Vietnamese partners in the fields of clean energy and strategic infrastructure, especially standard gauge railways and urban railways, including the Hai Phong - Hanoi - Lao Cai railway line to connect with Con Minh - Trung Khanh, to go to European countries.
Asia - Pacific Chairman of PowerChina Corporation Chau Gia Nghia thanked and expressed his honor to receive Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, as well as the trust of the Government and the Prime Minister in PowerChina in the past time.
With experience in participating in and constructing a total length of more than 2,000 km of railway in China, Laos, and Indonesia, PowerChina hopes and requests the Government to support and create conditions for PowerChina to cooperate with 4 Vietnamese enterprises to participate in implementing railway projects in Vietnam, first of all the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line, demonstrating its commitment to ensure progress, quality and cost control effectively for the project; sharing technical and management experience with Vietnamese partners.
PowerChina Group wishes to continue cooperation and investment in renewable energy development in Vietnam and other infrastructure sectors.
The Prime Minister welcomed PowerChina's cooperation plan with Vietnamese partners; expressed support for the Group's investment and business policy in Vietnam in the railway sector and reiterated that China has cooperated and supported Vietnam in many fields, with many projects still being effective.
The Prime Minister said that Vietnam encourages large, reputable Chinese corporations and enterprises to invest and develop in the fields of railway infrastructure in Vietnam, first of all the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line.
The Prime Minister suggested that PowerChina cooperate and support Vietnam in developing the railway industry, transferring science, technology, training high-tech human resources, scientific management, and operational solutions in the railway sector...
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that PowerChina Corporation support Vietnamese enterprises to participate in PowerChina's global supply chain; transfer technology to enterprises such as Viettel, Vietnam National Industry - Energy Group, especially the technology of wind power (tuabin) production, solar panel production; cooperate with Vietnamese enterprises such as Lung Lo, Song Da to survey and develop energy projects, especially wind power in the northern provinces of Vietnam.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hopes that PowerChina will, through Vietnamese enterprises, expand its market to countries in Southeast Asia and other regions where Vietnam plays a role.
