The Government newspaper reported that on the afternoon of February 19, at the Government headquarters, welcoming Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Home Affairs of Cambodia Sar Sokha who is visiting and working in Vietnam, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that the Vietnam - Cambodia relationship comes from objective requirements, so the two sides must promote, build and foster it.
The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to and gives top priority to continuously consolidating and developing good neighborly relations, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term sustainability with Cambodia; always supports a peaceful, stable, prosperous Cambodia, whose role and position are increasingly affirmed in the region and the world.
Thanking Cambodia for its help in the struggle for Vietnam's national independence, recalling Vietnam and Cambodia's support against the Pol Pot epidemic regime, despite being sometimes misunderstood by the world, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the relationship between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the Cambodian Ministry of Home Affairs, welcoming the very successful results of the talks of the two Ministers, demonstrating the understanding and deep sharing between the two sides, contributing significantly to the concretization of high-level agreements.
The Prime Minister believes that the two ministries will develop a friendly and cooperative relationship, jointly resolve issues of mutual concern; increase exchanges and shares on strategic issues; effectively coordinate with senior leaders of the two countries on security work, and promptly and effectively resolve issues arising from the grassroots; cooperate in digital transformation, and build population data.

The Prime Minister suggested that in the coming time, the Cambodian side in general and the Cambodian Ministry of Home Affairs continue to pay attention to and direct the strengthening of cooperation and combat against all types of crimes, especially transnational crimes such as drug crimes, human trafficking, combating online fraud rings using Cambodia for operations; fighting against hostile forces fighting the two countries and the relationship between the two countries; rescuing and repatriating Vietnamese citizens detained and forced to work due to online fraud in Cambodia; especially, promoting the consideration and granting of nationality to cases of people of Vietnamese origin living and working stably, legally, integrating well with the host country and acting as a bridge of friendship between the two countries; promoting the work of decentralization, setting up, solving border issues, building a stable, harmonious, cooperative and developing cooperation.
Agreeing with the opinion of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and believing that in the current context, each country cannot develop alone but must cooperate and develop together, especially with traditional neighbors, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Home Affairs of Cambodia expressed his appreciation for the achievements of the Vietnam - Cambodia cooperation relationship that generations of leaders and people of the two countries have established; said that young Cambodian leaders like him will continue to promote and constantly foster the Vietnam - Cambodia relationship to become more effective, substantial and strong.
The Cambodian Ministry of Home Affairs will closely coordinate with the Ministry of Public Security and Vietnamese ministries, branches and localities to effectively combat all types of crimes, especially drug crimes and fraud crimes in cyberspace; promote delegation exchanges and cooperation in human resource training; educate the people of the two countries, especially the young generation, about the good tradition of relations between the two countries and continue to foster the Vietnam - Cambodia relationship; consider legal status, create favorable conditions for people of Vietnamese origin to live and do business stably and legally in Cambodia.
