Prime Minister promotes Vietnam - Angola signing important documents on trade and investment

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung requested Vietnam - Angola to coordinate to promote and soon complete negotiations and sign important documents in the field of trade and investment.

On the afternoon of June 3, at the Government Headquarters, Politburo Member, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung received Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Angola Tete António.

Also attending the reception were Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son, leaders of the Government Office and ministries: Foreign Affairs, Industry and Trade, Finance.

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung welcomed Minister Tete António's first official visit to Vietnam. Expressing high appreciation for Angola's role, position and influence in Africa and emphasizing the historical significance of the visit to Vietnam by Angolan leader, President of the People's Liberation Movement of Angola (MPLA) Agostinho Neto 55 years ago, the Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam always cherishes the traditional friendly, brotherly, and close-knit relationship between the two parties and two countries.

Pleased with the positive developments in bilateral relations in the past time, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung requested the two countries to continue to strengthen high-level delegation exchanges and between ministries, branches, and localities of the two countries, exchange development experiences, promote cooperation between the two ruling parties, closely coordinate and support each other at multilateral forums.

Congratulating Angola on successfully taking on the role of President of the African Union in 2025, the Prime Minister wished Angola to become a bridge to promote substantive cooperation between Vietnam and the African Union and expressed his willingness to act as a bridge to promote cooperation between Angola and ASEAN.

Regarding bilateral economic cooperation, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung requested the Angolan government to continue to pay attention, support, and create conditions for the Vietnam National Group of Industry and Energy (PVN) and Vietnamese businesses to invest and do business in Angola.

The Prime Minister proposed that the two sides coordinate to promote and soon complete negotiations and sign important documents in the field of trade and investment such as the Agreement on Investment Promotion and Protection and the Agreement on Avoidance of Double Taxation to create a platform to promote cooperation, diversify the structure of import and export goods and research to resume traditional cooperation programs in the fields of education, health, agriculture...

The Prime Minister also requested the Angolan government to continue to pay attention to and create conditions for businesses and the Vietnamese community in Angola to live and work stably, making practical contributions to the development of the two countries.

Angolan Foreign Minister Tete António respectfully thanked Prime Minister Le Minh Hung for taking the time to receive the delegation. Appreciating Vietnam's impressive development achievements, Minister Tete António emphasized and thanked Vietnam for its valuable assistance to the Angolan people in the period of fighting against colonialism and national liberation and wished Vietnam to continue to accompany Angola in the new development phase, promoting comprehensive cooperation in the fields of agriculture, mining and mineral processing...

The Angolan Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed high agreement with Prime Minister Le Minh Hung's bilateral cooperation orientations and affirmed that the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs will closely coordinate to promote visits by senior leaders of the two countries in the coming time.
