According to VNA, during the working trip to attend the high-level joint discussion session of the 81st United Nations General Assembly and carry out bilateral activities in the US, on September 22 (local time) in New York City, General Secretary and President To Lam and the high-level Vietnamese delegation visited and worked with Pfizer Pharmaceutical Group.
At the working session, General Secretary and President To Lam witnessed the handover ceremony of cooperation documents between Pfizer Pharmaceutical Group and Vietnam Vaccine Joint Stock Company (VNVC) on improving vaccination capacity and disease prevention for Vietnam.
Pfizer Pharmaceutical Group and Vietnam Vaccine Joint Stock Company shared their desire to contribute expertise, capacity, and resources from each side to support health priorities; exchange and explore cooperation opportunities, promote vaccination, strengthen the response readiness of the public health system, contributing to the implementation of Vietnam's long-term health goals.
The two sides expressed pride in the long-term cooperative relationship in the common goal of contributing to caring for and improving the health and quality of life of Vietnamese people; wishing to continue to exchange and explore cooperation opportunities to protect and improve people's health.
The visit and working session with Pfizer Pharmaceutical Group in New York by General Secretary and President To Lam and witnessing the signing ceremony of the Cooperation Document between Pfizer Pharmaceutical Group and Vietnam Vaccine Joint Stock Company emphasized the important role of the private health sector in accompanying the Government to promote and strengthen the development of Vietnamese healthcare.
Previously, in March 2025, in the presence of leaders of the Ministry of Health, the US Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Vaccine Joint Stock Company signed a memorandum of cooperation with Pfizer Pharmaceutical Group to share knowledge and develop capacity in the field of high-quality vaccine production.
Accordingly, Pfizer Pharmaceutical Group will support Vietnam Vaccine Joint Stock Company to improve its knowledge to build an international standard vaccine factory in Vietnam, aiming to produce vaccines domestically, meet domestic demand and gradually participate in the global supply chain.
In parallel with cooperation with Pfizer Pharmaceutical Group, Vietnam Vaccine Joint Stock Company is expanding cooperation with many large pharmaceutical groups in the world to improve the production capacity of new generation vaccines in Vietnam.
