On the morning of September 16, at the National Assembly House, Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man received Chairman of the National People's Congress Committee for Finance and Economy of China Zhongshan and the working delegation visiting and working in Vietnam.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized that the delegation's visit continues to deepen the Cooperation Agreement between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the Chinese National People's Congress (signed in 2024), thereby making practical contributions to consolidating and developing the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, the Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future of strategic significance.
The National Assembly Chairwoman stated clearly that Vietnam and China have a long-standing traditional friendly relationship. In particular, recently, high-level visits by General Secretary and President To Lam and General Secretary and President Xi Jinping have achieved common perceptions as a basis for developing relations between the two countries in the new era.
In that spirit, the National Assembly Chairman said that the National Assembly of Vietnam and the National People's Congress of China need to regularly maintain high-level delegation exchanges at all levels, between committees, groups of young parliamentarians, groups of female parliamentarians and groups of friendly parliamentarians to learn from experience.
The committees of the National Assembly of Vietnam strengthen practical, specific, and substantive cooperation with the specialized committees of the National People's Congress of China.

Welcoming the working delegation to work with the Economic and Financial Committee of the National Assembly of Vietnam, the National Assembly Chairman expressed his belief that the two sides will have a profound exchange on theory and practical experience in the management of finance and economy of the two countries.
Chairman of the National People's Congress on Finance and Economy of China Zhongshan affirmed that the cooperative relationship between the legislative bodies of the two countries is increasingly deepening and becoming more substantive. In 2025, Chief Commissioner of the National People's Congress of China Zhao Leji made a very successful official visit to Vietnam. The two sides have reached an important common understanding on strengthening bilateral relations, especially strengthening exchanges and coordination between the legislative bodies of the two countries.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Chairman of the National People's Congress on Finance and Economy of China agreed that the potential, strengths and room for cooperation between the two countries, especially in economy, trade, and investment, are still very large. In the first 8 months of 2026, two-way trade turnover between the two countries reached 234 billion USD, striving to reach the target of 300 billion USD this year.
Highly appreciating Vietnam's socio-economic development, people's lives are constantly improving, and Vietnam's position in the international arena is increasing, Comrade Chung Son affirmed that this is a solid foundation for the two sides to continue to expand exchanges and cooperation. Accordingly, the legislative bodies of the two countries strengthen coordination and share experiences in legislative and supervisory work, in order to create an increasingly favorable legal environment to promote the economic development of the two countries.
