On the afternoon of October 30, a working group of leaders of the Party, State and Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front led by Politburo member and Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu inspected the flooding situation; visited people, patients and families affected by floods in Hue City.
In Thanh Thuy ward, visiting people who suffered heavy damage, the Standing Committee of the Secretariat said that Hue is one of the localities most seriously affected by the recent natural disaster. Despite being busy working abroad, General Secretary To Lam always follows the situation, sends letters of condolences, encouragement, and sharing with people, officers, and soldiers nationwide who are overcoming the consequences of floods.
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Comrade Tran Cam Tu sent his warmest condolences and deepest condolences to the people of Hue for the damage and loss; at the same time, commended the sense of responsibility, the drastic and dedicated participation of the entire political system, especially the armed forces and the people in rescue, relief and support for people in flooded areas.
The Standing Secretariat requested Hue City to focus on overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, giving top priority to the task of saving people, ensuring the safety of people's lives; immediately deploy measures and means to search for missing people, evacuate people from areas at risk of flash floods and landslides; absolutely do not let any people be isolated or poor without timely support.
Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu emphasized the need to ensure safe housing, provide clean water, medicine and necessities for people; pay attention to the elderly, children, pregnant women, and the disadvantaged; urgently restore essential infrastructure, schools, medical facilities, and soon stabilize life and production. The city also needs to implement good policies for families with deceased and missing people, care for the injured and step up propaganda so that people proactively respond to natural disasters and maintain security and order.
On this occasion, Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu presented support gifts from Party and State leaders to Hue City and households in Thanh Thuy Ward affected by natural disasters.
Vice Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Ha Thi Nga presented 5 billion VND in support from the Central Relief Mobilization Committee to the people and the city's on-duty forces.
On the same day, the working group also visited and presented gifts to patients being treated at Hue Central Hospital and the family of Ms. Vu Thi Hong Hue (born in 2020, wounded soldier, resistance fighter infected with toxic chemicals) - a household that suffered heavy damage in the recent flood.
According to statistics, from October 25 to 30, Hue City will have very heavy rain, causing two major floods on the rivers. Floods have killed 5 people, 3 people are missing, 1 person is injured; 32/40 communes and wards are flooded, about 35,000 households are affected, many houses collapse, damage, infrastructure and production are severely damaged.

Consecutive storms and floods have caused many deaths, missing and injuries; many houses and production and business establishments have had their roofs blown off and suffered heavy damage.
