At the meeting, Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense - emphasized the good traditional friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia; affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to and gives top priority to continuously consolidating and developing good neighborly relations, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term sustainability with Cambodia.
Senior General Vo Minh Luong emphasized the importance of education and propaganda for the people and armies of the two countries, especially the younger generation, in terms of history, significance, and importance of solidarity and mutual support between the two countries and the two armies through historical periods.
Senior General Vo Minh Luong assessed that in recent times, Vietnam - Cambodia defense cooperation has continued to develop substantially and effectively, which is one of the important pillars of bilateral relations.
Notably, it is necessary to effectively maintain the exchange of delegations at all levels, mechanisms for dialogue, consultation, and information exchange; training, coaching; border management and protection; exchanges and associations; propaganda on the solidarity and friendship relationship between the two countries; searching for and gathering the repatriation of martyrs' remains; coordinating and supporting each other at multilateral forums.
For his part, General Ya Kim Y - Director of the Inspection Department, Ministry of National Defense of Cambodia - thanked Vietnam for its material and spiritual support for Cambodia; emphasizing that Cambodia always remembers Vietnam's great help in helping Cambodia escape the international epidemic.
On this occasion, General Ya Kim Y informed Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong of the results of the working session with the Inspectorate of the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam.
Appreciating the results of the meeting, Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong suggested that in the coming time, the two sides should increase meetings, contacts, exchanges, and share professional experiences and professional training, supporting each other to improve their effective consultation capacity with the leaders of each country's Ministry of National Defense on inspection work.
Senior General Vo Minh Luong affirmed that the leaders of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense always support and create all favorable conditions for the two inspection agencies to strengthen cooperation, contributing to further deepening bilateral defense cooperation.
