Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man has just signed and issued Resolution No. 1670/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in Lai Chau province in 2025.
The National Assembly Standing Committee decides to reorganize to establish commune-level administrative units of Lai Chau province.
The communes include: Muong Kim, Khoen On, Than Uyen, Muong Than, Pac Ta, Nam So, Tan Uyen, Muong Khoa, Ban Bo, Binh Lu, Ta Leng, Khun Ha, Sin Suoi Ho, Phong Tho, Dao San, Si Lo Lau, Khong Lao, Tua Sin Chai, Sin Ho, Hong Thu, Nam Tam, Pu Sam Cap, Nam Cuoi, Nam Ma, Le Loi, Nam Hang, Muong Mo, Hua Bum, Pa Tan, Bum mua, Bum To, Muong Te, Thu Lum, Pa Do.
The wards include: Tan Phong, Doan Ket.
After the arrangement, Lai Chau province has 38 commune-level administrative units, including 36 communes and 2 wards; of which 34 communes and 2 wards formed after the arrangement and 2 communes that do not implement the arrangement are Mu Ca commune, Ta Tong commune.
This Resolution takes effect from the date of approval (June 16).
The competent authorities urgently carry out necessary preparations to ensure that local authorities in commune-level administrative units formed after the arrangement prescribed in Article 1 of this Resolution officially operate from July 1, 2025.
Local authorities in commune-level administrative units before the reorganization will continue to operate until the local government in commune-level administrative units is formed after the reorganization and officially operates.
The Government, the People's Council, the People's Committee of Lai Chau province, local authorities, administrative units related to the implementation of the arrangement and other relevant agencies and organizations are responsible for organizing the implementation of this Resolution.
Arrange and stabilize the apparatus of local agencies and organizations; stabilize the lives of local people, ensure the requirements of socio-economic development, national defense and security in the area.
Assign the Government, based on this Resolution and Project No. 358/DA-CP of the Government, to organize the accurate determination of the natural area of commune-level administrative units and publicly announce it before September 30, 2025.
At the same time, urgently deploy the work of measuring and determining the boundary scope of administrative units on the field to prepare documents on the boundary of administrative units according to regulations.
