This morning (7.8), in Hanoi, the Political Officer School coordinated with the Propaganda Department and the People's Army Newspaper (QDND) to organize a scientific workshop with the theme: "The spiritual and political power of the August Revolution in 1945 - The significance for the cause of building and defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the new era".
Co-chairing the workshop were Major General, Associate Professor, Dr. Luong Thanh Han, Principal of the Political Officer School - Head of the Organizing Committee of the workshop; Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Duc, Director of the Propaganda Department (General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army); Major General Doan Xuan Bo, Editor-in-Chief of the People's Army Newspaper; Major General, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Ky, Vice Principal of the Political Officer School.
The workshop is a major scientific activity towards the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2).

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Duc, Director of the Propaganda Department, stated that 80 years have passed, but the stature, significance and historical lessons of the August Revolution are still valuable, especially for the cause of building and defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the new era.
According to Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Duc, looking back and promoting the political and spiritual strength of the August Revolution is not only a historical gratitude, but also an urgent requirement of reality.
That spiritual political strength is the endogenous resource of the nation - people of Vietnam, the foundation for us to overcome all difficulties and challenges, successfully build and firmly defend the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

For the Vietnam People's Army, researching and applying lessons about the political and spiritual strength of the August Revolution is of special importance.
The fighting power of our Army is made up of many factors, but the political and spiritual factor always plays a decisive role. In the new context, we must continue to build a politically strong Army, as a basis for improving the combined strength and fighting quality, ensuring that the Army is always a political force, a reliable fighting force of the Party, State and People, ready to receive and excellently complete all assigned tasks, firmly protecting the independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of the Fatherland Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Duc emphasized.

Speaking at the workshop, Major General Doan Xuan Bo, Editor-in-Chief of the People's Army Newspaper - suggested that the workshop focus on discussing issues such as: Building and promoting political and spiritual strength is the core issue, the foundation for the success of the August Revolution in 1945; objectively and comprehensively evaluating, drawing valuable achievements and lessons on building and promoting the role of factors that make up the political and spiritual strength of the August Revolution.

Along with that, Major General Doan Xuan Bo also proposed lectures to assess and forecast the characteristics of the situation and movement trends of the world, the region, and the country; clarify opportunities - advantages, difficulties - challenges; identify new components, impacts and requirements; recommend and orient the proposal of a synchronous and feasible solution system to promote the political and spiritual strength of the August Revolution in 1945 for the cause of building and defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the new era.
