On the afternoon of April 28, at the Presidential Palace, General Secretary and President To Lam chaired the ceremony to award the Decisions to appoint 5 Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam abroad.
At the ceremony, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Office Nguyen Hoang Anh announced the President's decision to appoint 5 Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam abroad.
According to the President's decision, Mr. Trinh Minh Manh - Head of the Higher and Postgraduate Training Department, Diplomatic Academy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs was appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to India, concurrently in charge of the Democratic Republic of Nepal and the Kingdom of Bhutan; Ms. Nguyen Huong Tra - Acting Director, Institute of Foreign Strategic Studies, Diplomatic Academy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs was appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Kingdom of Belgium, concurrently in charge of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the European Union; Mr. Doan Khanh Tam - Deputy Director of the Information and Documentation Center, Diplomatic Academy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs was appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea; Ms. Chau Mai Anh - Deputy Director, Department of State Protocol and Foreign Interpretation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs was appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary

Awarding the appointment decision and assigning tasks, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that Ambassadors are assigned tasks in areas with very important positions in politics, economy, security, and foreign affairs, so they must deeply understand their responsibilities, promote bravery, intelligence, and sense of responsibility, contributing to bringing Vietnam's relations with other countries into depth, substance, stability, sustainability and effectiveness.
The General Secretary and President requested to put economic diplomacy, science and technology, and development services in the central position; train human resources to serve science and technology development and market expansion.
Representative agencies must become "radar stations" to detect opportunities, be bridges with economic, financial, scientific and technological centers, and also be a fulcrum for businesses, localities and the Vietnamese community abroad.
Ambassadors need to soon develop specific action plans for each area, clearly identify strengths, needs, cooperation opportunities, resources and results that must shift from "activities to products"; from "relationship thinking to creating development value".
The General Secretary and President requested the Ambassadors, after receiving their assignments, to urgently concretize the requirements into action programs of their agencies, clearly defining the focus, progress, responsibility and effectiveness, and not to delay the implementation of tasks.
