General Secretary and President To Lam wished Guangxi to support Vietnamese localities in implementing digital transformation, AI and smart infrastructure projects.

Within the framework of the State visit to China, on the morning of April 17, in Nanning city (Guangxi), General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife, along with the high-level Vietnamese delegation, attended the Launching Ceremony of the Vietnam - China Border People's Festival 2026 with the theme "Consolidating a solid social foundation, uniting and cooperating to develop together".

The program was organized by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations in coordination with the Chinese People's Foreign Friendship Association and the People's Administration of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region with the participation of central and local delegates and border people, youth of the two countries.

Speaking at the ceremony, General Secretary and President To Lam expressed his sincere and deep gratitude to the Party, State and people of China, the government and people of Guangxi for preserving and conserving relics related to President Ho Chi Minh, the Vietnamese revolution and traditional friendship values between the two nations.

The General Secretary and President emphasized that strengthening people-to-people exchanges, especially border people and between the young generations of the two countries, is a very important bridge to strengthen the friendly feelings between the two nations and build an increasingly bright future for Vietnam-China relations.

The General Secretary and President requested agencies, people's organizations, and localities of the two countries to continue to effectively organize exchange and travel activities between people of all walks of life, in accordance with the spirit of "the closer the neighbors travel, the closer they become"; strengthen the education of friendship traditions, turn "red addresses" in the two countries into a vibrant cultural and historical space for the young generation, together creating new and radiant chapters for Vietnam - China relations; transform the strength of traditional friendship into specific and effective cooperation results, bringing cooperation into depth and substance.

The two sides jointly strive to make science, technology and innovation a core driving force, towards the highest goal of improving the quality of life for the people.

The General Secretary and President wished Guangxi to support Vietnamese localities in implementing digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI) and smart infrastructure projects so that border residents can access modern utilities as easily as possible; promote cultural exchange and cooperation activities, taking culture as a spiritual foundation and driving force for the development of a connecting bridge.

General Secretary and President said that it is necessary to innovate cooperation methods, not only stopping at traditional festivals and exhibitions, but also promoting the cultural industry, preserving heritage associated with sustainable tourism and training high-quality cultural human resources, meeting the requirements of the digital age.
