Rapid development must go hand in hand with maintaining social stability
On June 3, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary and President To Lam chaired a working session with the Party Committee of the Central Public Security and relevant agencies on the Project "Building a society of order, discipline, safety, health, civilization, harmony, and development" to submit to the Politburo for comments, as a basis to report to the Central Executive Committee to issue a Resolution on building a society of order, discipline, safety, health, civilization, harmony, and development in the new era.
Also attending were Politburo Member, Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu; Politburo Members, Secretariat Members, Members of the Party Central Committee, leaders of ministries, departments, central and local branches.
At the working session, representatives of the Central Public Security Party Committee briefly reported on the progress and content of the Project. Attending delegates also expressed their opinions, focusing on exchanging and discussing in depth related contents.
Concluding the working session, General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that the name of the Resolution needs to be concise, closely following the requirements of the documents of the 14th Party Congress and new development requirements in building and governing a modern society according to socialist goals and the development of the country.
To deepen the fundamental guiding viewpoints, the General Secretary and President suggested building a modern society, which is the cause of the entire people under the leadership of the Party; proactively absorbing the quintessence of human civilization, scientific and technological achievements and advanced governance, while maintaining independence and self-reliance of national cultural identity, socialist orientation in the process of national development.
Harmoniously develop materially and spiritually, ensure harmony between economic development and cultural and human development, improve spiritual life, consolidate social trust and people's happiness, and not let society become materially rich but culturally poor, morally poor and human values poor.
Rapid development must go hand in hand with maintaining social stability, improving the quality of life of the people, not trading order and discipline, social justice, environment and cultural values for pure economic growth.
Building people as the center, culture as the foundation, law and discipline as the pillars, building a civilized socialist society, first of all building Vietnamese people in the new era with ideals, personality, culture, civic consciousness, sense of responsibility and ability to adapt to modern society.
Closely combine virtue and rule of law, between construction and opposition, between education and persuasion with discipline, order and respect for the law...
All policies and guidelines must aim to protect people.
General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that all guidelines and policies must aim to protect people, improve the quality of life, ensure that people live safely, healthily, humanely, have development opportunities and enjoy justice, the fruits of development, closely combine economic development with social progress and justice, and no one is left behind.
Building a modern social governance is a strategic breakthrough; the faster it develops, the better social governance must be, strongly innovating social governance thinking and methods in a modern direction, strongly shifting from social management to social governance and construction.
The General Secretary and President noted that this resolution must be integrated, connecting and shaping the social model of Vietnam in the new era; clarifying the standard values and overall requirements that the entire political system must aim for in the process of building a civilized and socialist society in our country in the coming time.
General Secretary and President emphasized the determination to build the resolution with new thinking, long-term vision, in-depth content and feasible solutions, with high action value.
