On the afternoon of August 12, in Seoul, South Korea, General Secretary To Lam met with Chairman of the National Assembly of South Korea Woo Won Sik.
National Assembly Chairman Woo Won Sik warmly welcomed and expressed his honor to welcome General Secretary To Lam and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation on a state visit to Korea, visit and work at the National Assembly of Korea.
National Assembly Chairman Woo Won Sik believes that the visit will create new momentum, contributing to promoting and further deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Korea and Vietnam.
General Secretary To Lam expressed his pleasure at visiting the beautiful and hospitable country of Korea; sincerely thanked the National Assembly and people of Korea for their warm and thoughtful reception for the high-ranking delegation of the Party and State of Vietnam.
Congratulating the great achievements that the Korean people have achieved, General Secretary To Lam expressed his confidence that Korea will continue to develop strongly, achieve even greater achievements, and increasingly enhance its position in the region and the world, in which the National Assembly of Korea promotes the especially important role of the Supreme Legislative body.
National Assembly Chairman Woo Won Sik congratulated Vietnam on its recent development achievements under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and General Secretary To Lam; believing that with its potential and determination, Vietnam will continue to develop more strongly in the coming time, soon completing the above goals by 2045 to become a developed country with high income.
The two leaders expressed their delight that the relationship between the two countries is developing well in all fields, and wished to bring the Vietnam - Korea cooperation relationship into a real depth, commensurate with the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, as well as the great development potential of the two countries, in which parliamentary cooperation plays a very important role.
The two leaders highly appreciated the good cooperation results between the two countries' National Assemblies; agreed to promote the role of the legislative bodies of the two countries in coordinating, supporting and urging ministries, branches and localities to implement the cooperation agreements signed between the two governments; promoting the connection of the two economies for substantial, effective and comprehensive development.
General Secretary To Lam suggested that the two sides continue to effectively and comprehensively implement the contents of the Cooperation Agreement signed between the two countries' National Assemblies; promote cooperation and exchanges between the two countries' National Assemblies, increase exchanges of high-level delegations, exchanges between young parliamentarians and lawmakers; promote the bridging role of the Friendship groups of parliamentarians of each country.
General Secretary To Lam suggested that the two sides closely cooperate in effectively implementing bilateral and multilateral cooperation mechanisms such as continuing to open more doors for Vietnam's key export goods to the Korean market, thereby soon completing the goal of increasing bilateral trade turnover to 150 billion USD by 2030; promoting and cooperating labor, training high-quality human resources; paying attention to and creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to integrate, live, study and work in Korea; especially creating conditions for overseas Vietnamese to become a member of the Korean National Assembly in the coming time.
